Secretly Not Here Any More

It's not a dig at his age - I just want a move back to an avuncular yet commanding Doctor instead of a young, flirty Doctor.

Geggs

If they're going to continue with Carla being 'the impossible girl', then I could certainly hear an older Doctor calling her that with a sense of exasperation, rather than the sense of wonder that Smith's Doctor says it.

They did clone him a daughter, Ferretbadger, whom may be seen again sometime in future episodes.

I quite like the idea of there being a scene where Clara, seeing the new Doctor, lets on that she actually considers him, let's say, "hot"... for an older guy.

And he gives her a withering look and says "Yes dear. About a thousand years older." And they Never Mention It Again.

"They did clone him a daughter, Ferretbadger."

Ferretbadger is the Doctor's daughter?

Was there ever the remotest possibility that they could have got Tom Baker back?

Same person. Notice you never see them both in the same room at the same time.

Sho - employed again!

I want to see Ferretbadger show up in a steampunk ep as the Doctor's daughter.

I much prefer the avuncular doctors, but I can also see how Clara, who seems ageless and timeless sometimes, might fancy the new doctor. I think he's very attractive.

I have a disturbingly vivid image of that. Can't imagine where I got it from. 603 would be his/her rapping friend.

pebblederook-The old guy wearing surfer beads- what does he think he looks like?

Clara and NewDoc 12? It isn't going to happen. Listen, the most exciting place in the universe is my imagination and I haven't even got upstairs outside with the lass. He has no chance.

Oooh, yes, let's all decide what sort of companion we'd be!

Gangsta Sho who uses her slapping hand to great effect against the cybermen
FB in his suit, the light reflected by the lime green is at just the right freqency to blind Daleks
Mr 603 using his wit and way with words to flummux the Slitheen

Whilst a Slitheen is in a human skin and suffering the gas exchange problems of all that compression, the weapon of choice has to be a box of matches.

Mol - on the new tablet

Nod and I really enjoyed the 'reveal' programme, although we felt it could have been *lots* longer, with lots of looks back (but I suppose that would pre-empt the 50th anniversary stuff). Nod (who appears to have committed the whole of IMDB to memory, but has never seen The Thick of It) had even vaguely heard of Peter Capaldi.

Osh hadn't, and was correspondingly disappointed that the new Doctor is somebody he doesn't recognise. But then that was the case for David Tennant and Matt Smith. And it was hardly likely they were going to cast Barney off Blue Peter, or one of the Top Gear team.

I liked Victoria as an assistant. So I'll go for being one in corsets.
