Yesterday, someone placed in front of me a plate of SuperNoodles. Rather than water, they had been made with half a tin of Special Brew and enriched with a soupcon of Buckfast tonic wine. smiley - yuksmiley - ill I managed one spoonful...

Can anyone beat that?

Have you *seen* the KFC breakfast? There's a reason they're trialling it in Scotland you know smiley - biggrin

Many years ago I caught, killed, cooked and (mostly) ate a rat. I don't think KFC used such quality ingredients.

I've eaten rat, it was quite nice.

I've actually eaten most things. My dad joined the navy when he was young, and rather than drinking in ports he went off and learned how to cook the local cuisine. And he then taught me how to cook. Plus, never dismiss a food until you've tried it.

Personally, I hate octopus and squid. The texture is just wrong.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I've eaten tadpoles.
Locus.
roadkill.
But I can't quite decide for the worse thing I've ever eaten, between a takeaway pizza I was force fed a few weeks back, a 'walls' sausage', or the Mc donalds 'breakfast' I was forced fed on my way to see black sabbath at donnington... its eitehr the Mc D 'breakfast', or those 'walls' sausages... oh. hang on.....
many many years ago, some unkindly soul involved with the supermarket home delivery service, placed in my delivery, an unordered (by me), item.
I duely cooked and tried* to eat it.
It was some kind of 'George Forman', 'lamb rosemary grill', or whatever the eck it was called... man, that was hidious. It'd clearly been made with additional fat, butter and lard, in order I imagine, so you could marvel, at just how* much fat the drip tray on your forman grill collected.
Even after really serious over-cremation, to attempt to ensure sufficient fat and water had escaped its pale gray exterior, the resultant 'slab' of whatever the eck it was, was, utterly, utterly tasteless.
Like ... like nothing I've ever encoutnered, a kind of cross between small wooden beads/paper balls, made into a paste, with lard, butter, goose fat, gristle and... naa, it was truely indescribable...
but... its either that, the Forman lamb 'thing', the walls thing, err sausages, or the McD 'breakfast', diffiult to chose. I'd pay to not have to eat any of them. smiley - ill The pizza was less disgusting, and more confussing... for somewhere which one imagines, makes hundreds of pizzas a day, profesionally, to sell to the public, with a proper pizza oven, they, just failed... Baffling... truely baffling... the base was raw. the sauce was, no idea it wasn't on the pizza, and the cheese... well what was there was basically burnt. smiley - ill

I still stick to the hummus we ate in Israel back in the seventies. Looked and tasted like it had already been eaten. Served in a falafel. In fact, most of the food in Israel was pretty awful - it was Passover, and the bread was unleavened. We seemed to be living on hard-boiled eggs.

But not much can be worse than that green gunge. Bought from a roadside vendor somewhere near Bethlehem. smiley - yuk

Cow's brain. It was some time ago. I was in France and couldn't speak or read much French.

They were in a breadcrumb coating and were sort of grey and soft and just a bit unpleasant.

If my French had been better we would have been eating beef burgers.

Snails in omelette.

My granddad collected the snails on a beech near his holiday home in the southeast of Ireland, and prepared them himself.

I was quite young at the time, but I still remember it quite clearly.

When I was five, my sister dared me to eat a caterpillar. It tasted like chokecherry leaves, which is probably what it had been eating. I didn't get sick from it, but I still remember the acrid taste. smiley - yuk

In 1989, I went on a choral tour of Taiwan. In one cafeteria, they served us pig's brain soup, accompanied by chunks of pork fat in gravy.smiley - yuk In Taipei, we sang at the Chiang Kai Chek performing Arts Center. because we were so busy rehearsuing for our concert, we were provided with takeout Chinese food from a local fast food joint. It turned out to be the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. smiley - ill This was anomalous, because most of the food I had in taiwan was superb....

Shark's not bad if it hasn't rotted, though. Quite a meaty, unfishy texture.

Disgusting to me, or to other people?

I've eaten raw squid and absolutely loved it, but I've described the experience to people and watched in fascination as they've visibly changed colour.

I've eaten things you wouldn't step in, which weren't particularly pleasant for me either, but I don't go into details.

But in terms of things that actually make me heave, liver and onions is hard to beat. Put it with some celery and I'd find it hard to stay near the plate, much less eat any of it.
