Introvert or Extrovert?

I think perhaps asking a group of people who live on line what type of personality they have is going to come back with a lot of introverts

Me? Mega Introvert. Loathe meeting strangers, and will not go out with colleagues after work - or any time for that matter.

Largely introvert - like Gnomon, you wouldn't instantly tell. I love performing on stage. But I find small talk really difficult and I prefer to work alone.

I think you have a point. But then, thinking is where I scored moderate strength.

Same here. Nevertheless, I can make small talk when it's part of whatever job I have to do. The performing experience has helped with that.

Hummm I'm an extrovert. I love being around people, and detest being alone. I find it almost scary.

Oooh people.. hello, will you be my friends.
I find extroversion a bit of a problem. I find it hard to sit down at my desk alone for long enough to do work. I keen wanting to talk to people.
In fact I should be working now...

If you worked as an interviewer, you'd be paid to talk to people. :-0

Interesting to have the difficulties of extroversion examined, since so often it's seen as being A Good Thing. What else is hard about it?

Slight extravert here, but it depends on the situation. If it is a situation where I have a defined role, no problem (so conferences, work networking, family, immediate friends). But if it is a new social situation, where I'm not sure what is expected of me, I find that difficult.

Your Type is
ISFJ
Introverted 67

sounds about right. Although that isn't a particularly brilliant test.

There are certain issues with the Myers-Briggs test. For example if the analysis is repeated by the same subject on a different day the tests will often come out different, yet personality is a matter of fixed traits.

But does personality matter? Clearly it doesn't totally define behaviour.
And then we act differently in team situations.
