It worked for me, surprisingly. When the zip opens, you get the results of the relevant Google search, the second result being the Los Angeles Times article entitled "Gideon Sundback, who did not invent the zipper, gets a Google Doodle"

>> The zippers on trousers have an overlapping flap of material. <<
There was a period, somewhere between the late hippy era (1968)
and the end of disco (1979) when exposed zippers on trousers and
jeans were in fashion, often with a large teething ring at the sip.
These seem to fall out of favour with the advent of pop top cans and
the hedonism and greed of the 1980s. And while a cursory search
for 'exposed zippers' revealed no historical record it does seem that
exposed xippers are making a comeback, especially on the back end
of assorted contemporary ladies' fashions.

I love Keith Haring's pictures. I have cushions with motives of his pictures, and I used to ask for a Keith Haring calendar when people asked me what I wanted for my birthday.

I have read a couple of links to 'bios' of this artist
all of which say he died young at age 31. None say how.
BTW: that zipper guy from a while back...

Obviously you didn't consult wikipedia.
"Haring died February 16, 1990 of AIDS-related complications"
Which would explain why the other bios were a bit cagey.

Yes.
And, if I may say without risk of being called homophobic,
it confirms my suspicions. If suspicions is the right word.
Some might say prejudgment on superficial evidence.
Artists, eh.

nothing on my doodle today but FB is flooded with Mothers Day greetings, so it's probably the UK out of synch.
The Edward Lear one yesterday (celebrating his 200th birthday) was it included an owl and a pussycat, one of my all-time favourite poems

So busy playing with today's Google doodle Moog synthesiser I completely forgot what I was supposed to be searching for and would definitely rather stay at home and play with it than go to work! All those knobs to twiddle and noises to make
