All Whites
Conscientious, burdened
Trying desperately
like Titans chained
If only the media would relax

Pretty and witty
Stuck in my mind
Like limitless thought
If only she knew

Yay clzoomer!
His poem about pictures has made the h2g2 Front Page
'Poem of the Week'.
Here let me save you a click and a look:
>>
Pictures,
Sharp and moving,
seen in passing,
like 1080p 60fps on an HD screen,
if only I wasn't such a nerd.
<<
There now, you've all shared in the first poem ever written about
High Definition (HD) television. By a Canadian BTW.

Gray matter
Wizened and experienced
Slowly degenerates
Like compost in a fallow field
If only ideas would blossom again

Circuitry
Analog and Digital
Discreetly generating signals
Like waves on the ocean
If only I could sail without an electrical storm

Poetry
All wise and wonderful
When awe meets understanding
Like moonlight absorbed by the sea
if only I was a poet

Poets
subtle and revealing,
distilling the truths of life,
like a crucible of words.
If only I weren´t a poetaster...
/aside/
Wellcome anyone who breaks the rules.
The Muses are capricious... and it would be a pity to miss those verses you´ve got in your mind. Share!!!

England.
Flirtacious and teasing
Capello Capelloning
like a team on Italian beer
If only they can stay this drunk from now on

Woman,
Young and tall,
Running quickly,
Like a gazelle,
If only I was young as well.

"The Muses are capricious...

It's funny (not ha-ha funny, but curious) how just being around
poetry or just thinking about poetry causes the most eloquent
language to slip into our prose.
I love the almost rhyme of 'capricious', 'miss(es)' and 'verses'.
And the enjambment turn of 'miss those' that lays such emphasis on the abstract 'those'.
Cheers,

Oil
slippery when wet
coiling and broiling
in the helix of reality
like conchshelled or cosmic dna
if only it hadn't worked itself out.

Sugar-icing,
Glistening and tantalising,
Silently listening,
While she is simply super-sizing,
Pity she's not realising.

The Front Page,
Prestigious and informative.
Unveiling contemporarily,
Like the curtain in a stage show.
If only my poem could get on there too.

Darjeeling
Delicious, appealing,
Steadilly steeping, however you're feeling,
In its dark brown earthenware pot, it's sleeping,
Whether you choose to drink it or not.
"Well, it is teatime!"

Pension,
Modest but welcome,
Rising steadilly,
Like it flows from a Government money fountain.
If only I can climb this old age mountain.

Book,
Little and red,
Written encouragingly:
Like 'The Chairman' said,"Read it,
If you've nothing else to take to bed!"
Well, everyone else has gone out for the evening, and I've nothing much else to do.

Your wellcome Frank,
n´thanks for sharing.
Perhaps the rest of the gang
was drunk with sherry,
...or just in blank.
