A Conversation for Ask h2g2

I'm new to h2g2 and have what is probably a fairly basic question.

There are certain parts of h2g2 that I may wish to visit frequently - e.g. The Post, or perhaps this "Ask the h2g2 community" section. Is there an easy way that I can navigate to such places - e.g. by creating a list of links to frequently used pages/entries?

Thanks,

Rob

Most people put their links on their Personal Space. You'll need to change your page to GuideML (the language of the Guide) - you can do this by clicking the 'edit' button on your space. You can then add links to any page you want. A link to The Post, for example, would be:

The Post

AskH2G2 would be:

Ask

Not all pages have a name, so you just use the number instead. You could link to AskH2G2 by using:

Ask

There's a great page on "Spicing Up Your User Page" at A690518, which includes instructions on links.

I hope some of that helps! smiley - ok

There used to be a link to 'The Post' on the front page - I wonder where it has gone. You can find 'ask h2g2'either among the five busiest conversations, or under 'all about h2g2' - both on the front page. If you know how to use guide ml, you can edit your PS and put the links there.smiley - ok

Oh, and just because I like advertising it (and Cloned MADman mentioned it earlier) the MotMV is at A2334007.

Gnomon - time to move on

You can add links to your favourite conversations as well, although it is a little bit tricky. Suppose you like the Dr Who converstaion in Ask h2g2. Go to the conversation. You will notice at in your address field at the top of the screen is the long string: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=612257 All you need from this is the bit from the letter F onwards. You put this into GuideML as: Dr Who
