Oh what a can of worms Viv Stanshall opened when he made his famous remark. The back of the knee is called the popliteal fossa. In biology there's a name for *everything*, including the front of the elbow, which escapes me for the moment but which I've always called the crook.

sated could be it. But is there really an opposite to thirsty apart from not thirsty?
It's like trying to quantify the speed of dark, it is merely the lack of something.

Not quite. There is a such a thing as being not thirsty. There is no such thing as the speed of dark, although it is a lovely phrase. Sated is not the opposite to thirsty. It means you've had enough, and applies to food and pleasure as well.
There is also no word in English for the state of not having in-grown toenails.

Not having in growing toenails = not having ingrowing toenails.
Not being thirsty = not thirsty.
Why do you need one word for everything, when a short phrase will do just fine?

have you been reading 1984?
Abi suggested sated; I've always used satiated, which may or may not be correct.

I cannot believe that it took a h2g2-forum a whole dozen of postings before someone came up with "drunk"
It is true that neither english nor german or danish have an antonym to thirsty. But hey, did you ever meet a german, an englishman or a dane who were not thirsty?
And what exactly is the antonym of sleepy? Amfetaminated?

I reckon we really don´t need a word for not being thirsty...
If you are not thirsty, you had enough to drink, if you had enough to drink you pass out and can´t speak anyway...
Still funny that it took so long to come up with drunk or anything related...
Chili, very thirsty...

Think not about the opposite of the word, but the meaning. To be 'thirsty' means that you crave something which you currently do not have. I am thirsty for money/water/change of government. When you no longer crave these things, you are no longer excited by the prospect of getting more. So the opposite of thristy is apathy. Maybe.
