Its very sad, someone who genuinely tried to find the talent that was out there. A great loss.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Oct 26, 2004
I never realised he was as old as that, he always seems to be so young and vibrant on the radio, a sad loss indeed

Nooooooooo! Not Peely!!!!
Oh dear God, another one gone far far too soon.
The whole music world - and indeed the whole world - was a much brighter place with him in it.

OK simulpost there
"sic transit..." basically means this is the way everything goes.
caveat emptor is Buyer beware! (root of the word "emporium" for shop)

Honestly can't imagine a radio 1 without the strangeness that was the John Peel Show on every weekday. He was truly unique and had a very, very broad taste in music.

Very sad news - truly an outstanding man. Terrible that he should be taken from his family so suddenly and at such a comparatively young age.

It's such a loss. So sad. It's going to be dull without his show. He's been one of the big influences on me. I feel for his family, they must be devastated.
