What do people think is the most famous car in the world?

The batmobile probably. Though that brings up the question of which is more famous the one from the TV series or the one from the films?

Would have said both Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Herbie the Love Bug are better known than the Batmobile.

I was expecting more responces along the lines of Model T Ford or '57 Chevy Bel Air. I never thought of answers like that.

Your question seems to single out one particular vehicle rather than a model line.

I bet in a world wide poll John-Paul II's Popemobile would be high on the list if not at the very top.

I think the Beetle is the best selling car ever, or was it the VW Golf?

Well, I've "met" the real-life KITT - that's a pretty famouse car...

Or there's the Delorian from Back To The Future.

Or the Lotus in that Bond film (forget which one).

Or, for a real car, Bluebird, which held the land speed record at one point.

To be specific, Bluebird was a whole series of cars (and at least one boat, in which Donald Campbell died) and held the land speed record at quite a few different points...

There was the Ant Hill Mob and the cavemen and I think Peter Perfect was in it. Suddenly my knowledge of Wacky Races is fading...perhaps they weren't so famous after all!

The Italian Job mini's have got to be up there though.
