It's because h2g2 didn't verify them before Ictoan, it's just checking email addresses for the first time now.

Although I think they might have been verified before Rupert, but I can't remember clearly.

Yeah, It seems I *did* speak way too soon...


Went away for a bit to do some "real life" stuff (yeah, I know, I know...), came back and it took a few tries before it could recognise me again.

Then of course pages start coming up with the double header (meaning I got non frames within the frames area , sometimes it knew me, sometimes it didn't).

Now we'll see how many tries it takes to post this.

Well, it was easy enough to post, but it posted in non-frames!


If nothing else, at least it's been entertaining to see all the different possible errors it can make!

That was *really* strange...

Posted the first time even though it told me I wasn't logged in? and then got the addendums out of order?

I don't understand the new thing on the coversation list...
X amount of new posts I've a conversation, that says I posted 30 minutes ago, that there has been no new replys, but there are over 500 'new posts' looking at the thread, the 500 number is the total amount of posts and there has been no reply

Some people are never happy bout anything as it seems ...

How's this for weird? I am now Agapanthus with a capital A again, but still have a newbie page and still can't use my old Personal Space. So, does H2G2 think there are two Agapanthuses, or what?

I'm perfectly normally logged in for the rest of BBCi, by the way.

Yes, the system does think there are two of you at the moment

You've two separate IDs, the trouble is that somehow when logging on last time you created a new account...

How can a person have 2 ID's with exactly the same login and password? It seems mental to me. Surely If I was creating a new account - by accident - a message would pop up telling me I couldn't use those as they were someone else's?

Anyway. If the mess is still messy by the end of the week, I guess I'll just polish this space up and anyway I needed to write a new introduction. It's my journal I'm most cross about.

you're going to have to come up with a proper plural for Agapanthus now, you know. I think Agapanthuses sounds too clumsy- I'd go for Agapanthi

Before I go wibbling off to the bug report page, I wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

Looking at the conversation list (down lhs in Alabaster) the new 'x new posts' bit seems to be trying to do my head in. Example:-

-3? How can there be -3 new posts to a thread?

Hmm, two things... one, nobody else can see those figures in your conversation lists - otherwise everyone would know exactly what threads you'd been reading

Secondly - I suspect there's some kind of bug with certain long threads - the system's supposed to be telling you how many postings there have been to a particular thread since the last time you read it (or since the system was updated, which ever is the shortest time) - the error's been reported a few times in a few different places - but I suspect that Jim and Co are still running around trying to sort out problems with the new registration system - they'll probably get round to this particular snag when they've got everyone back on-line again.

Oh, and 'one, nobody else can see those figures in your conversation lists' you know, I kinda figured that from the way I couldn;t see anyone elses. But I *did* figure that they could probably see their own, hence the 'can anyone else see' type comment. Otherwise you wouldn;t know where the possible bug was occurring would ya?
