Knickers to wear or not to wear?
a visitor to planet earth Started conversation Mar 16, 2003
Some men and women go out without wearing knickers/underpants under their dress or trousers. It is known as going commando. Do any people on h2g2 go commando?

When I am in a rush in the morning to go out than that's when I do not wear any underwear or when I cannot find them in time.
It is more hygenic to go without any briefs.
Also depends on how cold it is for me. Sometimes I just where my long Janes on without any briefs. It also depends what mood I am in.

also when I lived in plymouth, I was a nudist, and just couldn't wear close-fitting stuff anymore. The vv just meant they stay off for extra reasons too.

There are times to wear, and times not to. Going commando is, I think something blokes really shouldn't do - we're an unpleasant enough lot as it is. Ladies on the other hand...
Best not go there while I'm on premod, eh?

I had no idea knickers were so bad for your health!

no its not, when you have an obscure disease its good to mention it in suitable places. Now anybody else who has vulvul vestibulitis and felt pain from wearing undies but was embarrassed to go without, now knows that they are not the only one, and need not feel embarrassed anymore.

Kaz, you don't like me anyway, so you were bound to be contrary.
I'd find it a little uncomfortable to go commando. Not to mention unhygienic when *that* time of the month comes around.
If you wear pure cotton underwear, you are less likely to get infections and the etc. However, if you wear synthetic materials, then because they don't *breathe* then they clog up all the necessary parts of you.
I thought everyone knew this?

For men, providing the trousers are loose and clean every day, I don't see any problem. I've done it a few times, especially in the summer.
The only things I discovered were a certain amount of *friction* (which could be good or bad) and a need to avoid jogging.....
