I am interested in finding a shirt with the H2G2 logo on it. (See the talking point for this week). Where can I find a shirt such as this? Do they sell these here? I would really be interested.

In the days before the BBC took over, you could buy T-shirts with the H2G2 logo on. I think you had a choice of black or white, sizes S, M, L and XL. I don't think the BBC still do them, though.

They're not available right now but they've been promising us new merchandise for ever and ever. I was once told that if we went and asked Natalie (U190181) very nicely, it might encourage things....

perchance? or ?
I must admit that my first thought when I saw the picture on this page: A814204 was
"How can that person be so miserable when they have a hootoo tshirt????"
or what?

Master B and I (let's keep the grammar in order) were the last to ask Natalie about this. Apparently it's still an ongoing project, but not looking good. They'll get round to it, but not soon.
I've already bagsied two, though.

You'll not find me disagreeing with that!

There is always the possibility of creating one yourself.
In the netherlands we can go with a photo to a shop, and have it printed on a T-shirt. Also you can get special paper on which you print it yourself, and iron it onto a Tshirt.
That way you get real special ones!
So if there will not be an official one, at the meet there maybe lots of 'illegal' one-of-a-kind ones.
What about a game: Who has the best h2g2 T-shirt?

I get the feeling they'd end up looking tacky, or wash out quickly.

Got mine from a friend who knew she couldn't fit into it and knew I wanted one badly...
I've thought about making additions to it - user number, volunteer organizations, etc... maybe on the sleeve without the url...

Amy - that's an excellent idea!!! ACE/GURU printed ones...and if all are on special order only, then that would make them uber-cool.
As long as there are some skinny fit black tops...I don't mind!
Another version would be tight-ish black/white top with 3/4 length sleeves, with *h2g2* written down them...
I mean, you don't just want shapeless tops! I wouldn't want to wear it as much!

Can we have skinny fit ones in size 18 please?!
I think I prefer the idea of bootlegs! Or start with a bog standard model and customise it with all the individual stuff.
Ones favourite smileys for example.
and for me!

I have owned two. The first one, I owned for the space of only a few hours. There was a very early h2g2 meet in Hyde Park, just when the tshirts had been first produced and it absolutely chucked it down. Being a prepared Guider, I had a decent rain coat (so didn't get drenched) and I also I had a spare hat and shirt in my bag as well as my newly bought h2g2 tshirt - so, dry clad, I had some spare dry clothing. There were however many drowned rats. My h2g2 got sold rapidly (to someone who was on the waiting list for the second batch of tshirts) and I was promised the one I now have from the second batch of tshirts.
Moral of the story - a Mad Hatter can never carry too many hats.
