Angus's replacement!

I like Otto's suggestion - but as Abi pointed out, the hosts' job is to read the autocue. If Merton was the host the programme would never get anywhere! I like him as team captain.

Yes. Jack Dee would have a good sardonic tone about him.
My vote goes to Dee!

If anyone deserves a big break, it has to be the (currently unemployed) star of ITV Digital, Monkey. He was the best thing about ITV Digital. Give him the gig! Or make him the co-host along with Jonny.

I dont think he left... what I read was that he was given a warning from the beeb last series when all the things came up in the news. then when the others started in this series bringing it up again I think it was the straw the broke the camels back. but then who knows what really happened?!
I dont know who would be able to replace Angus... it isnt entirely reading a script, though that is about all that makes the cut. In the filming I went to see he was hugely active. but then they do take 2 hours and cut it to 30 mins... the 30 mins was so totally different to the whole filming.
Jack Dee would be rather good though I think!

Sorry, you've misunderstood my previous question, it was about Paul Merton and not Mr. Deayton.
Changing the subject, did anyone see Douglas Adams on the show. I missed it. When was it and what was in the news that week?

I like the idea of Jack Dee - the ability to be unimpressed by absolutely everything is important. It's true what someone said about Stephen Fry being too fluffy, but he is capable of delivering a few punches.
Egon - It's true that Humph already has practically the same job. My only question is, would we get the lovely Samantha as well?

You know, apparently there's a place in London called Samantha Close, and it's being turned into a game like mornington crescent, but the objective is to geta s close to samantha as possible...

On her recent appearance on nthe show Chritine Hamilton certainly showed she had the barbed wit to humiliate Deayton and the other guest maybe not the most logical choice a few years ago but I reckon the Lady would make a good host in that situation.

The poor lass. I wonder if they play "Sven Close" when she's not there.
