Help! Need 5 fun facts about h2g2
Ami of zx - no badgers here! Started conversation Feb 1, 2006
Hi Everybody!
I'm going to go on television here in Australia (on the einstein factor if you know it) and my special subject is The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
I need to give them five funky cool things about hootoo so the host (peter berner) can say them at the start of the show.
For those that aren't familliar with this: the einstein factor is a show for people who know "something about everything and everything about something"
So I know a fair few things about hootoo (enough to get on the show anyway) but i'll be guggered if I can figure out "five fun facts"!
Help me with some suggestions, please!!
Thanks
zxami

Well, we have our own religion - or at least a cult... nighthoover . Apply to 2legs for details; he's the High Priest.

Hi there,
Way back when, in the days before Peer Review, it used to be considered the height of cool, froody even, to get a rejection on your work that was submitted to the Edited Guide. I can't remember the content of the rejection e-mail now but perhaps another researcher from that time might remember.

"< A474644 > 'Rejection, Rejection!'
< A183250 > 'A guide to the world of h2g2 rejection'
< A188994 > 'Rejection slips page 2'
apparently it inspired some others as well "

I think that the est thing about hootoo is the whole process of it's coming about.
I don't think that when DNA wrote the radio series he thought that it would materialise - and especially not in this way .... life following art.
Oh, and remember, if it wasn't for the ABC's Radio National we would probably STILL be waiting for it to be played on Australian radio
(for those who don't know - it's the ABC who make Einstein Factor)
Good luck - I'm sure that you'll do us proud!

1. He could say it's a "sci-fi dream come true" and resumée the role of the Guide in the books, radio series etc.
2. You should find out how many researchers there are (people have been trying to do this for ages. We know how many have registered, but how many are actively using it?) Contact the italics for stats.
3. Not only are there the "official entries" but people can write their own fiction in the Underguide.
4. Several happily married couples have met here. (see: A847127 and A827237) and lots of friends have been made.
5. There's a choice of 3 skins.
6. Now available on mobile phones
7. No adverts!!
