Sort of a senior Girl Guide troop... I'm a 40 year old Scotsman, so I don't know that much about it either...

A Ranger unit is usually a group of older Guides who potter about and do more adventurous stuff together, stuff that's a bit difficult to organise for a Guide or Brownie pack. Many Rangers are also young leaders or helpers at guide, brownie or rainbow packs as well.
