Long lived sitcoms and TV series that should have been shortlived...

OK, twist the current topic of another thread around.
Which long lived sitcoms should have died the death very early on?
My first vote goes for No Place Like Home. A sitcom featuring a young Martin Clunes. Terrible yet it somehow lasted for years.
Also, for me (although some would probably disgree) Keeping Up Appearances only had one joke as far as I could tell yet kept going for donkeys...

What's that thing at the momewnt on Friday nights prime time with Father Dougal? My Hero? As someone said, it would have made a great kiddies show in ther Rentaghost vein, but as showcase BBC1 - come on....
Series that should have stopped while they were good:
Frasier
Red Dwarf (see Chloe wassaname in the other thread)

Sorry. Ronnie Corbett cr@p at sit-com non-shocker.
Men Behaving Badly. A series featuring an older martin Clunes and the personality vacuum that is the other bloke.
Duty Free. Really, what was all that about?
That'll do for starters.

Oh, forgot the one that always starts arguments ;
Blakes 7. Utter tosh after the first series.

I liked Blake's 7 until Blake left... (was that in series 3? )
Hi De Hi went on wayyyyyy to long too (plus two further series in a different guise ) but seeing as I was too young to properly appreciate it, I'm not sure if it was any good in the first place really.

Bad B7 was better than nothing!
What is so frustrating about so many of these is the wasted potential... but then with other the concept is so breathtakingly bad you wonder how it got off the drawing board....

Moving away from sitcoms, and likely to start an argument, I think all soaps should be discontinued. Especially the Australian ones. We have four crap soaps of our own, without needing to import a further half dozen or so. Even the die-hard fans of some soaps reckon that the storylines are getting ridiculous. Scrap the lot, I say!

Friends.
Smug smug smug smug smug smug smug smug smug.
A few good one-lines don't make up for the fact that it's insufferably smug.
Otto.
Controversial....

Yeah Friends should be killed off. Especially since it seems to be turning into soap.
I watched that Red Dwarf series starring Chloe whatshername and was quite disappointed. Not at all as funny as I remembered it.
Dark Angel. Interesting concept, very boring series.
Hang Time. A sitcom that shouldn't have lasted beyond the first episode. I don't know how long it went on for, but that was soo bad.

It irritates and vexes me that there is excessive coverage of reality shows like Big Brother and Survivor and not enough repeats of neglected classics such as:
1.My Two Dads.
2.Duty Free.
3.Blossom.
4.The Incredible Hulk
and 5.Johnny Briggs.

The Incredible Hulk? This is a new definition of the term classic that I wasn't previously aware of, obviously.
Batch Two;
They Think It's All Over
Have I Got News For You
Never Mind the Buzzcocks
All of which have wel passed their sell by date now, ta. Except when Terry Wogan is on Buzzcocks and rips Smarmy Lammarr to shreds without even trying.
All reality television shows, whatever their subject.

what? Even the News?
Johnny Briggs???!!!
Ack! I hated that.
There's an American sitcom called Saved By the Bell that I had the misfortune to watch once or twice....

M*A*S*H is already over of course, but was it really good enough to last a decade?

No no, let's get rid of all TV that deals with reality. More escapism on TV!
