I blame bad music on record co's, because nowadays we have lot of one day fly's (one hit wonders), because they seem to make money.

another thing is that the already famous artists get hugde amounts of money of the record co, but are not always very good underpresure of making another hit record. so rocord co's blame missery on illigaly copying.

less big amounts makes lower prices for CD makes more sales and makes more profits.

I'd pick "All along the watchtower" as both best and worst cover... the best being Jimi Hendrix' version, of course, the worst: the remake by U2. 100% unnecessary, that one!

Slipknot's stuff is just RUBBISH. It's just incomprehensable guitar noise with somebody screaming swear words over the top.

I don't think Goths like Slipknot because they think the music's great, but because they want to be associated with the doomyness and comic-book nihilism of the scene.

As another awful record, I'd like to nominate "Bingo" by Catch. A dreadful record that somehow managed to get a release sometime in 1996. It was guitar-music you see, and that was quite big in Britain then. There could be no other explanation as to why this feeble bit of "satire" (sending up a public schoolboy who got ripped off £500 for a drink in a Soho strip-club - a news story from the time) was imposed on the listening public.

I just think Slipknot are boring. You can follow that style of music from early NIN and M. Manson back to Black Flag or Killing Joke and it's all been done better.

Slipknot always strike me as a combination of Napalm Death and Gwar, but without the musical talent and songwriting ability of the former and the good taste and decorum of the latter.
