nuclear war? pah! anthrax? poo! global instant mega death? nah! spiders? yes. arg!

The fear that's there is nothing after death.

Many things *scare* me. Mostly they are things I just dont like:

Rollercoasters - the looping ones (not natural - we are upright for a reason)
Throwing up (how DO you get rid of the taste?)
Bad driving (too close on motorways, jumping lights, no signals etc)
Flying - well just the taking off bit really (again - not natural, how does something the size of 50 elephants get off the ground)
Wasps (I suppose they have some purpose - can't think of one myself)
Sunburn (extremely ouch)
Watching operations on TV (but strangely only the ones involving eyes or knees - the others I can manage)

things I am scared of 'cos I am daft:

spiders and creepy crawlies (of course)
daddy long-legs (I mean - they just dangle. No other purpose in life other than dangling. I have to leave a room until it's dangling days are over.)
opening curtains and looking out of a window at night! (on the ground floor there may be someone looking back at me! on the first floor there may be someone floating there looking back at at me - too much Stephen King during formative years perhaps?)


and then there's my real phobia - Astraphobia. Thunder and Lightning. No explanation - irrational (but not totally). My duvet is my friend during a storm!!

I was trying to get to sleep but decided to get and go to the loo, whilst doing this heard a wierd noise that i couldn't quite put my finger on and now i feel really disconcerted so don't want to go back to bed. Annouyingly my connection is being really erratic so i can't connect to the talekr i'm on to talk to my friends so now i feel really lonely.

Normally things like this wouldn't bother me normally it's spiders.

We took a quick vote. The thing that un nerves everyone here is snakes. The way they move that fast sideways without legs and feet is just creepy .

snakes have never really bothered me, and i've been bitten by one. odd.

i agree with Lady in a Tree; looking at the windows at night is /scary/ because there might be someone outside looking back at me!
