Someone who used to work where I work now, but I never met her, was the sister-in-law of the novelist Margaret Atwood.

My cousin is married to a guy who used to captain England's basketball team and Grandad Weatherwax has played guitar on the same stage as the Beatles (30 years after them tho) I saw Black Sabbath when they were called Earth.........

OK then. Several years after I was born at Bradford-Upon-Avon maternity hospital, Will Carling was born in the very same hospital.
AND. I once stood in the same pub at the same time as Paul Mariner (Ipswich and England) and didn't know who he was.
But then come to think of it I don't suppose he knew who I was either.

My Great-Grandfather once caught out W.G. Grace (quite staggeringly famous cricketer for those saying 'Who?' at this moment).
My Dad was bumped into by Steve Ovett at the Bluebell Railway in East Sussex, UK.
I went to school with someone who claimed that his uncle was Bryan Ferry (not too sure about that one).
My wife met Sharon Davies (former GB Olympic swimmer).

My brother broke Ian Botham's son's foot playing hockey.
I had a half hour chat with Pat Ingoldsby (who? a 70s Irish childrens TV star) about whether pedestrian crossing lights purr contentedly like cats or cluck like chickens.
My first landrover had a very short (and chronologically innacurate) appearance in "Memphis Belle".

British Swimming Team relay member Claire Huddart's sister, was in my class from nursery right the way through to 6th form.
David Bamber (who was headmaster Eric Slatt in the BBC comedy, Chalk and was also in Pride and Prejudice) went to my high school.

Stood next to David McAlmont in the gents of the Underworld Camden last night (2001-03-19) after he'd been on stage with the Alabama 3.
Blagged my way into an aftershow for Clint Boon (who? he was the bowl haircut keyboard player with Inspiral Carpets) and he's a really nice bloke. His wife is really nice as well
I was taught english by the sister of one of the Red Dwarf writers.

My mother met Anika Rice when she was pregnant with me..
My father was good mates with Noel Coward.
And many many more things, like he [My dad] had dinner with bobby charlton and stuff. My dad just knows everyone..

Both myself & my big sister went to the same school as Cliff Richard.
My sis even brushed his hair once!
Our drama teacher never stopped telling us how she told Cliff he'd never amount to anything. (She was very young when she taught him and very old when she taught me - just felt that needed adding )

One of my friends' dad was Frank Williams Lawyer (Formula 1 Team owner)
One of my friends was on Jim'll Fix It and met Jimmy Saville.
One of my brother's friends' older brother was taught to play bass guitar by the lead singer of the Kinks.
Are those tenuous enough?

I once had lunch with Rutger Hauer, and I appeared on TV (vox-pop on News) saying how I beleived everyone thought Edwina Currie had a big mouth (though I *was* cut off before saying 'but she's more honest than the rest of the Conservative cabinet')
