Campaign to give 2legs his own tree

In another thread, 2legs has become rather infatuated with the idea of having his own tree. What sort or species do you think would serve him well?
On a whim, I recently got a novelty gift of a "Grow your own bonsai tree", and have some Jack Pine seeds in the first stages of preparation. If 2 or more actually germinate, I suppose that I could give him one. Mind - - - it might be a fair few years before he can try to climb it.

It must be true - I saw it said in a Bugs Bunny cartoon some 40-odd years ago.
And in fact, most of those years were odd ... hmmm.

Most of the last forty years should hve been very odd; for that is the length almost of my time, thus far on this plannet i've still no idea how I've managed to live that long I saw trees for sale. in pots. 6 or 7 foot tall. I'm so* tempted to just buy one and stick it on the blacony.... silver burch or willow? or ... so much choice no oak trees so far though that I've found

I may have misquoted

Every spring, my lawn produces about 637 new little soft maple sprouts that wanna be trees. You can have all of them, if you like. Grow them in every corner of the house, the garden, the street ...

Will 2legs need to know How to Recognise the Type of Tree from Quite a Long Way Away?
If so, I recommend number one, the larch.

true.. but I'm guessing it'll need a pretty large flower pot for it to be in, on the balcony, so the roots have room and enough to hold it in place without it t toppling off the balcony...
