I thought I would start a 'thought for the day' thread where people can post their, er, thought for the day.
My thought:
Why is the word 'pillage' only used when discussing vikings?

Interesting. My thought: Because Vikings got a bad rap. "Pillaging" is nature's way of thinning out the villagers. Werewolves, witches and vampires terrorize and devour villagers as nature's way of saying,"Hey, quit having so many damn babies". Vikings are no worse. They had an intended purpose in the grand scheme of things, they fulfilled that purpose, and now they're gone. Must we still badger them with our narrow-minded judgement? Can't we let those brave, big, hairy, population-thinning, village-pillaging saints rest in peace? I hope one day the answer might be yes.
