Vicki Virago - Proud Mother Started conversation Jun 2, 2005
Today at work began very uneventful.
The usual stuff happened. The phone rang...3 times. The door went twice. I did a couple of letters. I watched a work colleague walk through my room to the filing room.
THUMP!!!!!
Eh? I thought. Rhi? You ok?
Nothing...zip...diddly squat...not even a "fine" was uttered.
So I gets up and walks into the filing room. There's Rhi flat out with a load of files scattered around her.
I gets on my knees (I'm not one for that you know) and begin calling her name. Nothing. I shake her. Nothing.
Sue, who works in another office off the filing room comes out.
Get an amulance, I said. She's not responding.
Rapid pulse rate of 100 beats per minute I counted, and she also had irregular breathing.
Meanwhile, Sue is on the phone to Ambulance control. She shouts through to slightly change her position. To lay her on her back (I'd put her in the recovery position by this time) and to tilt her head back to ensure her airway wasn't obstructed.
I did all that and Sue came through saying the Ambulance was on it's way. I asked her to go through and get my boss to make him aware of what was going on. Gina came running through just as Rhi began to come round.
She was so confused, bless her, and began to cry. I told her to stay exactly where she was as I didn't want the chance of her passing out again. I told her she was ok and that the paramedics would be here soon...they were too...just as I was telling her this, I could hear the sirens going off...two of them. An ambulance and a fast response unit.
They took her observations and BM (blood sugar thingy) to make sure she was stable, which she was and all she could say was "I don't want to go to hospital". Then she asked for her dad who worked over the road at the Cathedral...Gina ran there as fast as her little legs could carry her. Took around 8 minutes or so before her dad arrived.
Meanwhile, Rhi is adamant that she doesn't want to go to hospital and is signing a release form so she doesn't have to go. (against my express wishes I have to add).
Anyways...once her dad was happy that she was ok, he had to go. Had to go to a funeral (he plays the organ) and I said I would take her home. So I got my car out of the private car park and picked Rhi up and took her home (via the chemist to collect a prescription she was waiting for). Went in and explained to her mum what had happened and to expect a phone call from the doctors in the afternoon as they said they would.
My job done, I left Rhi at home with her mum and made my way back to work. Pulled up into the car park and guess what!!! Some had parked in my space!!! Where am I supposed to park now!!! Chester bad enough as it is!!!
So what did I do?
Blocked my boss in

sounds eventful. I hope your c collegue is alright, and the blackout/falling over wasn't a sign about anything severe, and was 'just one of those things'.... Maybe a low blood pressure type thing? Blockign your bosses car in: Now I recon that is a good move, as when the boss wants to go, you'l have to move your car, and can use that as an excuess to bunk off work early work... yeh... must ... do ... some more.... soon....

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again. Posted Jun 2, 2005
You'll have to let us know what happened, when you find out... within reasonable social restrictions, of course. Was it a blood-sugar thing, or...?
Hope she'll be okay.
Well done VV!
