I swear to God I'm never going to do another of these closed season Euro competitions again - World Cup and European Championships excepted of course - they are just so bloody dull
...and the teams have all got funny names which makes typing up the results a real trial
Anyway, come on, drag yourselves out of bed and get on and predict your scores for the following five Intertoto Cup games that no one anywhere cares about.
Partizani Tirana v Dacia Chisinau
Stavo Artikel Brno v FC Thun
FC Wil v Willem II
Gloria Bistrita v Brescia
SV Pasching v FK Pobeda Prilep
Closing date - 12noon Saturday 12th July

Oh, one thing to note. I will be ignoring extra time and penalty shoot outs for these games. It's the score after 90 minutes that counts

WEEK NINE - Results
GreyDesk Posted Jul 13, 2003
For the second week there was a round of peverse results, with the weaker team winning through
I tell you, if this were to happen in the Premiership next season, then I'd be betting on Portsmouth, Leeds and Bolton to bag the English Champions League places
Anyway, the results, for what they are worth...
Partizani Tirana 0-3 Dacia Chisinau (JAPALAU, Andriuta, Orbu)
Stavo Artikel Brno 1-1 FC Thun (KROUPA, Raimondi)
FC Wil 3-1 Willem II (LUSTRINELLI, Romano, Caluwe)
Gloria Bistrita 1-1 Brescia (SANMARTEAN, Gonzalez)
SV Pasching 2-1 FK Pobeda Prilep (BAUR, Nacev, Gleider)
----------------
The Points:
Ormindroyd - 2 points (Pasching result)
Number Six - 4 points (Pasching result & score, Tirana scorer)
Egon - 3 points (Bistrita result & score)
Otto Fisch - 2 points (Pasching result)
Kiltedjedi - 7 points (Brno result & score, Wil & Pasching result)
Master B, GreyDesk, Robin & Tonto - nothing
All of which makes Kiltedjedi our weekly winner. Well done (not that you did any of the work towards it of course...)

Yeah, but who'd have thought some bunch of Swiss nobodies would beat Willem II Tilburg? Dutch football's clearly not what it used to be.

GreyDesk Posted Jul 14, 2003
What, are you seriously considering this? It would be a shame to split the camp into two competing halves over what is, quite frankly, just a couple of sets of fluke results.
Also I'm not sure if the pool of players around is large enough to support two separate competitions. So I would need to question whether it would be worth my time continuing with what I'm doing if I only had say 4 or 5 players.
Let us know what your plans are
