Do we dot after initials? As in:

or
J. Haydn
I think not, but couldn't find it in the style guide. (I can never find these things when I look for them.)

also, shouldn't the 'subbies' in the title of this place have a possessive apostrophe somewhere?

Question one - no, no dots. You're right, it is in the style guide somewhere, but I'm not going looking for it right now 
... it's one of the few bits I can remember with any reliability
