What do people think? We're supposed to use "British English" and "outwith" is definitely British in that it is a Scottish dialect word. Should I change it to "outside of"?

Outwith the old, and inwith the new? 
Not knowing the context doesn't help.
I'm familiar with the word, but it sounds forrin to me, and certainly doesn't conform with what 'most people' consider to be British English.

I don't think I stated my preference, WS.
The context is this:
this is a specialised process, involving much jumping through hoops, and is outwith the scope of this entry.

It would cause me to pause as if it were an error. 'beyond the scope of this Entry' is far smoother.

OK - "outside" would be fine, but not "ouitside of". Sorry for attributing my preferences to you.
