I'm subbing an entry by Bluebottle about (surprise, surprise) the Isle of Wight. He's included as references, just about every other entry that he's written about the Isle of Wight, and there are about 30 of them.
Most of these are not relevant to the entry other than that they are about the same island.
What do people think? Is this sort of linking a good or a bad thing?

I had this problem when subbing the Beatles' project. I removed the unnecessary/irrelevant ones. He didn't object.

Ashley used to say links should be pertinent to the entry, although you can get away with the odd one or to that are just pertinent to the link word.
