How about;

Dear Wargamer. You may remember us, we're in your RPG. We'ld like to continue with it, but it's a bit of a nuisance because we can't edit the page. Would you mind us using your account for this page? If not, could you please e-mail your username and password?

Yours etc.

The crew of the Vigilence.

Too bad. We'll just have to carry on as we are then.

OK, I think the Ka-Boom was long enough.

We don't have to continue as we are. That entry was the ship, and we're gonna build/get a new ship.
I suggest we think of a new name, in fact, a completely new game-universe, possibly entered by a convieniently placed portal in space, so we're not tethered down by those little bits we heard from wargamer about what the universe is like outside the ship.
Wouldn't it be great if more than one person could edit an entry?

I also suggest a new crew-structure. There can be five officers, as follows:
Captain - in charge of everybody else. what the captain says goes - period. directly in charge of the command section of the ship which includes the bridge and captains quarters.
Navigator/First-Mate - second in command, in charge of plotting courses through space. in charge of the navigation section of the ship, which is actually part of the command section, in charge of the briefing/planning/map room
Tactics Officer - In charge of the tactical section of the ship - the weapons, shields, and small craft.
Science Officer/Engineer - In charge of keeping power running through the ship, and of the engineering section which includes the engines, transporters, tractor beams, and a good part of the labrotories of the ship plus a the other things such as keeping the small craft running. (all of which require engineering)
Life Support Officer - In charge of the Life Support section of the ship, including oxygen/water/food/heating&cooling production, the inertia dampers, sick bay, medical laboratories, and galley.

yes, um, did I say that right?
chain of command is captain, navigator, tactics, science, then life support.
but who's in charge of the cargo hold and brig?

Cargo hold: Science, brig: Tactics?

but we've only got one thread going!

to have lots is too confusing!

That thread is the escape pod veichle called the "Spirit of Vigilance" - I wouldn't trust that bucket of bolts any further than the nearest spaceport. It will probably fall apart quite promptly soon as it lands, due to the stress placed on it during re-entry, which should be about all it can take. We're going to need a whole new ship which I think will be a new thread on another new Guide entry. But yes I agree, when we move into the new ship we should keep it all in one thread, so it's less confusing that way.

Oh I see!

very good but how do we get hold of a new ship?

Post 157

That would be a question for the other thread since my character has to answer that one, and if my character were here he would be dead.

I mean, which do you like better, pinch a ship before we get there or beat up some locals and nick their keys.

One thread would be fine, like in Star Trek, just about everything takes place on the bridge.
