Silver Sword Quest - The Death and Return of Chivalry
Thorn Posted Dec 25, 2005
[Sharp]: "Tobias, I know you'll go for whatever it is that you want, and I am fine with you going and taking yourself to town, but I for one am curious about what there might be to offer at the next town over... that, or surely there is at least some form of trading post or other further along on the path. You do not intimidate me..."

: 6 ft. height that is... omission typo
"I think,-"
*Pauses for a moment to look at the glint of the jetstone to his own armlet*
"I want to explore out here a bit... Who knows, there might be some wizened hermits, traveling salesmen perhaps? There might at the very least be some forgotten tools or items left from other travelers. Some of those might prove useful,- like that axe Gandark and I found stuck in that tree back there. Maybe the next town would have someone who could point us towards something helpful... that, or maybe some pretty girls, eh?"
*Shrugs, his pipe making a multi-colored stream of bubbles.*

Sharp, when are you going to understand that this is a FORUM, not a chattroom. Things aren't supposed to happen in real-time on h2g2! The quickest possible pace ought to be posting once or maybe twice a (real world) day!

OK, OK, in order to prevent a boring long and drawn out trip back to the same town we've been in for so long, if the party does decide to go back to town, I must warn you, Flunk will stop them. One way (friendly, maybe even coming along on the quest for a while) or another. ()

[Sharp]: *Stands up straight and tries to look Tobias in the eye. This is a little tricky since he is only six foot two*
"I'm not trying too... Also, are you mimicking me? I'm just saying is that... Er,- wait a sec." "It's good that we don't intimidate one another,- if we are expected to be able to work alongside one another,- when and if need be, yes?"
*Shrugs in a good natured sort of way, & this time, does not mutter.*

[Sharp]: (to Tobias): "Alright, alright, saying we do go back first before heading out further- but how are we supposed to get back? ... last time I checked,- that log bridge we'd made earlier had washed away."
*Places his hands into his pockets as he continues to use his bubble-pipe awhile idly strolling back and forth, ... and then paces, trying to sort out his options.*

[Kylen] notes for future reference that I need to learn a silcening spell to use on Sharp. "Oy vey."

[Gandark] we're basically venturing into an unknown ... basically nobody's traveled that very far beyond the river for years ... you get into Goblin country and then who knows - the end of the world? so we'll probably need some warriors. Of course, there may still be settlements out there as well, and other kingdoms too.

[Sharp]: (To Gandark) : "Goblins,- you mean those little mean fellers with the long-ish pointy noses?"

[Gandark] Could be, if we're both thinking of greedy bloodthirsty evil barbarian monsters with bad attitudes.

Thorn Posted Dec 26, 2005
[Sharp]: "Oh,- all the goblins I was talking about (see), we're the little kind they have back home (my home that is) ... not much taller than a foot or at the most two feet in most of the "pockets" there. Say, there aren't going to be bruins, or much ogres yet thouh... those would be further up north, where places tend to be icier, yes?"
: Based on the general assumption that there are tundra regions at the extremities... .

[Sharp]: "But,- you see,-here's my bit/the beef (w/my take on it) : Say we do get to the next town-then if we go that way instead. Even if it is a goblin trading-outpost... I have done business with the chaps a few times before. Their greediness tends to sometimes get in the way of their reasoning skills... when they attempt to make a deal. Usually aren't too happy to find out that they've been ripped off,- but I don't believe you are talking about 'orcs' though, are you Gandark... they hate humans more... and it's a lot harder to trade with them, no?"

[Kylen] we need a warrior. We should head back, and make sure we are good to go first. No telling what we will need after wee continue"

Thorn Posted Dec 26, 2005
[Sharp]: "Alright,- I can't see anywhere to go wrong with that."
*Just to be sure he has forgotten offers "Prefyrred customer" 10% (limited) discount cards To Gandark, Tobias, Kylen and Gandark.*
"Might as well stock up on explosives and potion(s/medicine) while we're at it."

<<<*Whacks Thorn with a huge meat tenderiser* You can't just HAVE everything. Decide now what you have on your person. You wouldn't have carried vouchers on a quest to find whatever it is we're looking for. So stop it. Its doubtful you would have brought much. So a list, now, of what you have. And that will be it. I think everyone should do an inventory post to straighten this out. Tobias has a staff, robes, a small bag of coins and the bangle from the wolf, as well as the timepieces he wears. Now, everyone else.>>>

Thorn Posted Dec 26, 2005
[Sharp]: "Tobias why are you demanding that we list for you all our stuff... aren't you happy to receive a discount card... I make those using a tiny spell. That's all. No, I don't have lots of explosives or medicine 'on me' -on me, that's what Anole and I make and sell in our shop... you know, back in the town you want everybody to go back to."
<>
*zaps Tobias with eye-rays*
"Sorry guy, but I kinda have been wanting to do that for some time...(and hitting me with the tenderizer was just pushing it. Not to mention having to look up you're nose to see... that was just gross (). There's this thing called a kerchief...)."

[Sharp]: "You know, and I know,- that I'm an inventor as a hobby... so I tend to be a bit of a pack rat... who cares? I've got my armor, this coat, a bubble-pipe (duh), and my codex, an heirloom pocketwatch, and mymonocle (w/ an optional spyglass-attachment), and some money (you can see my scythe, -I wear it strapped across against my back (obviously)). You can keep your bangle/bauble... I'm not even saying I want it. If you've got such an eye for finery... maybe I can find you a jeweler's magnifier at an antiques booth (at the marketplace)? Then you could appraise stuff we find or earn in quests, eh? I'll make a merchant out of you yet."
...and the small lantern, which Sharp had bought on his way out of town, on the beginning of the trip... it's hanging off of the scythe-rod by a little short chain.
: What's your problem with the whole pocket space idea? It's part of what makes this game fun... you yourself just took advantage of that supposed "hammer space"... Man, I don't get you. , (the stuff I had mine bring, not you)...
