Right then, who's up for a bit of a tidy?

There's one!

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 25, 2006
Right, just in case any other Miners happen along, here's what we're doing at the moment. This thread is for Entries in the AWW that look like they need to be moved. We still need to go through the process, proposing and seconding, at some stage, but not yet (it's been so long since this has been done, that just wading in and sweeping will have the effect on the AWW of putting a bargepole into a pond and stirring at 100 rpms).
I'll keep track of these and then, when we get down to sweeping, I'll keep a separate list - some I assume we can ask the authors to move (where they've been UGed, used in the Post, CACed etc), with the rest we'll need help, preceded by begging and pestering.

Trin Tragula Posted Sep 25, 2006
Ach, don't be daft I'm standing here admiring the vim! This'll just be a useful thread to keep track at this stage - stop any duplication of effort too, since I probably won't be joining in for a couple of days
Once we've got a wodge together, we can do the actual sweeping in one big swoop.

LL Waz Posted Sep 25, 2006
Have just removed four (big dent in the 1400+ entries in there) that I submitted and have been UG'd.
Btw, that annoying thing where authors can't remove work submitted by someone else applies to the AWW.
You go guys, I'll join in some, just don't scunner yourselves right? When the canary stops singing, get out and take a break.

Hang on with A807635 it's the CAC version. You want A800830.
The Truth About Airplanes was UG'd as well, though there's no congrats message on the AWW thread. That's a first in my experience!
I'll put these (Prepared earlier, much earlier!) in the pot, together with why so I don't forget.
A3487926 How to change your date of birth - there's a smile in it but it's under developed.
A3874593 A Documentary: Nacirema snaftrops - neat germ of an idea, again under developed.
A3862064 Misconceptions - would also need developing and the author was a one week only back in Apr'05.
A3898182 - A Plate of Chips - as sprout said, 'an old school DNA-lite entry!' It would work and the author was another post-the-film one week only researcher.

So, Waz, are we also looking for stuff that is not 'up to par'? I don't feel confident enough to make ajudgment Can I pass on those? You guys can pick them up instead.
I need a

Well, they're just being hoisted on the list at the moment, so there's no countdown to self-destruct or anything
But yeah, that's fine - I'm going to work through the UG Archives in a bit and track down those.

Wow, Trin, I am awed.. Is there anything I can do to heyulp?
you have some sort of technique that does not involve opening sixteen windows and cross checking searches through researchers' personal spaces in six different dimensions... dontcha?

Wilma, 'course you can pass on the under-pars.
Though if you think we're losing a gem - yell.
And if you carry on going through that backlog, I'll bet you'll find ones you want to post here - one liners, adverts for web sites, unreadable theories ...
I was just falling back into what we used to do without thinking about it really.
Think we do need to do both at some stage, or apart from recent good stuff, if someone went rooting through they'd mostly find the ones passed over... and it wouldn't give the best impression.
