h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*The lab is a large rectangular room, a steralized white, with two rows of long lab tables running up the middle of the room, each containing some bubbling or hissing liquid. At each end of the room, stairs lead up into the hallway.*

*A camara clicks on, scans the room. In the Hallway, Mourryan is observing the camara's line of sight and looking to see if there is anything useful there.*

is there?

* MaW descends the stairs, having made his way down from the upper corridor through a ventilation grate after a battle with Mourryan. He pauses at the entrance, studies the room extremely carefully, then goes to examine some of the things on the tables *

Hmm... Daedalus, can you get into any of these computers?

*Mourryan, where-ever he is sees in his minds eye the images picked up by the security camera in the Basement Lab. Mourryan runs down the maze of halls on his way to the basement lab, shutting his cloak off as he goes so that it can regenerate*

Pfft. Of course? What do you want done?

*Mourryan is getting closer*

I am detecting a large source of heat heading in our direction... human. He has a neuro-uplink... how handy. I can attempt to hack his mind, if you'd like. It'll take a while, of course.

*The voice in the speakers pauses.*

But first-

*The doors to the labs slam shut, and squeal as the pistons behind them continue to push, bending the thick steel together and blowing out the opening.*

*The very sneaky Chronos has followed MaW through the ventilation system and is watching MaW from the shadows*

Sorry Daedalus, I should know you can get into the computers. Is there anything in there we need for the bomb, or on what any of this stuff is? Some of it might be useful, I guess.

* MaW studies a large glass jar full of bubbling liquid *

This probably isn't though.

* he checks how many grenades he's got left, and munches on a ham sandwich from his lunchbox *

*Mourryan's nuero link isn't recieving right now, thus making him safe. Mourryan kicks in a ventelator grate and crawls into the lab, hiding behind a lab table. He plugs in the short range comm jammer, thus reducing all comunications to hand/body signals and speach*

You've got to be sure on the Neuro-thing. It's either gotta be on, or off, during an engagement... anyhoo, D's inside the building's system.

[Daedalus] He's made it inside the lab! Behind that table!

*A large crane overhead sweeps at Mourryan's torso.*

*Mourryan shoots the chain and the crane hook and most fo the chain drops loudly to the floor, the rest passes over Mourryan's head without coming more than two feet close.*

Mourryan turns the plug off when he's done transmitting/accessing with it. Kinda like a telephone, turn if off till yah need it

Other sort of crane, like a mechanical arm.

Ooooh, mechanical arm! Me want!

Yes Daedalus, I heard him!

* MaW hides behind an open cupboard, glancing briefly at the bottles inside. The label on one catches his eye *

Methanol, eh?

* he takes the bottle, sticks a length of bandage in the top and sets light to it with a finger before throwing it at where Mourryan entered the lab. The bottle breaks, and there's a nice big fireball as the methanol ignites. MaW scurries to a new hiding place *

Where's backup when you want it?

*Looks in surprise at the fire, it burns but it isn't hot! Oh well, throws a grenade from a nearby box at where MaW was last time he saw him, no doubt he's moved, but Mourryan wants something to explode*

Don't forget the arm...

* MaW finishes his sandwich as the grenade explodes harmlessly nearby (shattering several large glass vessels in the process) and looks in the cupboard again for something that burns hot. Unfortunately no such chemical is in evidence *

Daedalus, any ideas?

[Daedalus] Concentrated hydrocloric acid is stored in the cabinets below you...

*The robot arm takes another swing*

*From the shadows behind MaW the muzzle of chronos's shotgun presses against the back of MaW's head*

don't even think of moving or it will be the last thought you ever have.

*A massive mechanized arm reaches down from the ceiling and genyly lifts Chronos into the air.*

[Daedalus] Not a good move!
