"I wished sometimes that I could shake off all thought and feeling. But I learned that there was but one means to overcome the sensation of pain, and that was death - a state which I feared yet did not understand."

How about the one that was edited out of the bible.
"blessed is he who expecteth nothing,
for in no way shal he be disappointed"
or
"It's a wonderful thing to be considered as being dotty"

"Good doesn't seem to be good enough! Aren't you the good man?"
From the coversation Roy Batty had with Deckard after a bullet nearly cleaved Roy's head in half. From the film Blade Runner, which is so full of great quotes that I'm tempted to type out the entire script.
"The light that shines twice as bright burns half as long ... and you have burned so very brightly Roy"
Doctor Elden Tyrell explains to the replicant that his days are numbered. However it's the good doctor who gets it first.
Damn that was a good film. The book is very wierd.

just as energy can't be made or destroyed, time can't be created or wasted, you can use it in an unsatisfactory manner, but reading the script to 'blade runner' in a very good use of someone's time.
and as to copy rights, laws are made to be broken and they are broken every day, just take a peek at what's going on in washington.

The Masked Ermine Posted Jul 30, 2003
Being a Doctor Who fan this is one of my favorite quotes from the series.
Doctor(speaking of the timelords): 'In all my travelling throughout the universe I have battled against evil, against power mad conspirators. I should have stayed here. The oldest civilisation: decadent, degenerate, and rotten to the core. Power mad conspirators, Daleks, Sontarans... Cybermen, they're still in the nursery compared to us. Ten million years of absolute power. That's what it takes to be really corrupt.'
