Excellent article!!!
You could put in the reggae name one - the name of your home town plus the name of the first politician you come to in a book/paper...

Yay! You put it into Peer Review.
There are a few bit's in the entry that might stop it getting into the Edited Guide -
1. The line "And thus I am Bebel Matman." For whatever reason they're not that fond of first person references in the Edited Guide. Maybe change it to " And thus, the author of this entry is Bebel Matman". Ditto with the line "For example, I am Bod Bellringer. Imagine."
2. "Like I said, it only usually crops up when conversational is at a REAL lull." change to "as mentioned, it only..." ?
3. There are also no links in the entry (i.e., to the Star Wars Edited Guide entry), but to be honest the Sub-editors will probably sort that out for you once the entry has been picked

"...once the entry has been picked."
A bit previous there I think Oberon Let's be careful of getting ahead of ourselves - not every single entry submitted to PR is recommended
I think this entry needs quite a lot of work to make it eligible for the EG, but it has the potential. As there are so many of these 'name games', it might work better as a generic entry, with examples of the many different variations on this theme.
Bebel, have you read these two pages yet - Writing-Beginners and Writing-Guidelines? They'll give you lots of good tips on how to write great entries which will sail through the peer review process and wind up on the front page

OK, so how do I go about editing and resubmitting the entry?
I'm so slack, I'm sorry.

No probs Bebel
Towards the right hand corner of the entry page you'll find a button or a link that says 'Edit entry'. If you click on that link it'll take you to a page with an editor which contains the text of your entry. Simply make whatever changes you want to and click on either 'Preview' to see what it looks like or 'Update Entry' to make the changes permanent. There's no need to re-submit the entry - you can make changes whilst it's still in Peer Review. Indeed, almost every single entry submitted to PR needs some changes made to it
If you want to use GuideML in your entry (see here <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> you'll need to check the box which says 'GuideML' and include the relevant GuideML tags. It's not required to write entries in GuideML, but if you do you can include links, and format it with headers and subheaders, plus much, much more Unless you're familiar with HTML though, it might be better to stick to plain text entries for a while.
Don't worry - Peer Review can be a rough ride the first time. The critcism here can seem harsh at times, but it's for a good reason - to ensure that the Edited Guide entries are of the best quality

Somehow Monty Wall and Bewall Stuwar don't seem to work, however I'm off to join the porn industry = purely in the interest of research.

Frisky Frontanez, Jaforn Geodal, and Dallas Craddick. No complaints there!
I'd include the reggae names. They're fun. In that askh2g2 thread about this, didn't someone have something about Mobster names: your favourite body part, plus your favourite Italian food? "Hands Mozzarella".
I can't see it needs that much more work. The first-person bits have to come out, true, but besides that...
GuideML is optional. Never hurts, but a neatly formatted plain-text entry is also perfectly pickable. If you make it more general, then the title would be something like "Name Games", and you could have a section for each type. Other than giving the rules for generating the names, there's not a lot to say about it, is there? I don't suppose anybody knows where/when this all originated. I have no idea when I first heard about it, but it was a few years ago, somewhere in the Southern or Southwestern US.
Fun entry - it ought to be ready for the Edited Guide after a little polishing.

As has been mentioned, this entry could be considerably expanded as a general Entry on 'name-replacement' games. There are the 'automated' ones as well... wasn't there a Hobbit one and a Ya-Ya Sisterhood one?
I would not consider the current entry to be ready to go just yet. Thorough is the keyword here. Probaby.

I'd expand it to cover all these sort of games too, along with some backgournd about where the idea first sprung up. AFAIK, the porn star one was the first, although I could be totally wrong.
For the record, my porn star name is Chesley Ladybank, assuming the street name version.

Hey, Theanthrope, what kind of animal did you name Fidel?
A882551 - Porn names/ Star Wars names
il viaggiatore Posted Dec 6, 2002
Fidel was a German Shepherd that had to be given away due to a chicken killing habit. I didn't name him and I'll have you know anyway that Fidel is a very common Spanish (pornstar) name.
