Mr. Legion

I got it, and you're getting a reply...smiley - erm Probably not the reply you wanted, though.

YS, I'm sorry I didn't get on to AIM last night. I didn't see your reply, because I had handed the PC over to my sister.

I'll forgive you, because sharing is good!

Hey, I feel like I've been missing out... I just picked up Terry Pratchett for the first time, and I'm really enjoying him.smiley - teasmiley - book

terry Pratchet rocks my world!

You ought to read "Good Omens," That's written by both Pratchett /and/ Gaiman, which means it's /the best damn book in the mothersmiley - bleepin' world.

Who's Gaiman, she sheepishly asks? I'm just now reading the Color of Magic, and it was the only one I could find in this one horse town... will look when back near Lansing.

Gaiman is a GOD. A shining golden GOD. All hail Gaiman...!

He writes really neat stuff. He wrote Stardust, neverwhere, and American Gods. (All great works.)

A new convert to Pratchett! smiley - biggrin

*Does a little dance*

How do you like it? You should know that Colour of Magic is by no means one of the best Discworld books, at least in my opinion. And Good Omens does indeed rock the casbah. Read it!

I'm digging it... got the feeling the color of magic is just the set up book, and the other one's must be better... hope so because so far it's good but not omygosheveryonehastoreadthis good. I do like The Luggage quite a bit... Rincewind reminds me a little of Arthur Dent.

The great thing about the Discworl books is that you can read them in pretty much whatever order you want (give or take a few minor exceptions) and not really miss much. They rock the socks. Screw the colour of magic. read about Death. "Mort" and "Reaper Man" are my personal favourites.

I'm not sure if I prefer the Rincewind or Guards series. Jingo may be my favourite book...then again, it may be Interesting Times (the first one I read).

Be warned! If you have all the books, and buy a new one in hardback, there's no going back. You have to get all the following new ones in hardback too smiley - grr It's hell. But highly entertaining.

When it comes to sci-fi and fantasy, I'm paperback all the way... although I did get my friend CaliforniaGirl the HHGTTG complete one volume set in hardback... but it was a gift.

That's probably wise. Discworld books are my only expensive vice so far, anyway. I pity Wheel of Time fans, who are seemingly going to have to fork out for a hardback every year until the end of time without ever seeing the end of the story.

I couldn't read the "wheel of time" books... they weren't very interesting to me. I'm a literature buff, though, very very picky.

Right now I'm reading C.S. Lewis and a stack of old Mother Earth News mags.

Very wise.

I'm plodding through WoT just now, but it's a little slow.

And I'm going to wait till paperbacks are available.

C.S. Lewis rocks, though.

Ja... little slow going, in the middle of the family crisis and trying to get back in time for work (my boss is soooo cool, though).
