I think small groups may be able to get appointments to see the museum outside of normal opening hours.

I happened down Charles Street (betwixt Font and Ibis) today, and there's a new one. I think it's called Base. There's also a place called Capes Dunn, which describes itself as an "ale auctioneer". I'm still not sure whether it would serve pints of ale or not.

Right, that's us booked into the Charles Street Ibis Now, can anyone recommend a good overnight car park?

Phil Posted Jan 7, 2012
There is a multi storey car park over the road from the ibis on Charles St. No idea about the costs of using it (or if the ibis gets any discount).

Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Jan 7, 2012
Prohibitively expensive.
There's a park and ride at Ladywell tram stop, but that means
a) Driving through the woolier parts of Salford
b) Leaving your car in Ladywell
c) Walking home

Well my driveway and the road outside are available for those that want it.
I do however live in the suburbs, so it will mean a tram ride (£2.20 single) (20 minutes).
I'll have to have a look for parking...

I looked into that car park and they do very reasonable overnight rates, so we're going to park there

I'm buggered if I'm giving them £7.50 for breakfast, not when we can stop off at Tebay services on the way home

I've just updated the attendee list on the page. There's rather a lot of people coming.

It's certainly going to be the largest I can remember. There's 45 signed up, with about another 5 partners, and a few more maybes and a couple I know of who're wanting to, but not putting names down just yet. But we're looking at around or over 50.
The pre-meet alone is set for about 20!
