A nice pair of slippers
Geggs Started conversation Dec 20, 2002
As my present pair are a bit worn out.
Okay, it may not be very ambitious, but it's something I would quite like. And can reasonably expect to get.

Oh no, that would be too much.
Just so long as they are soft and comfy, I'll be happy.

That is a very good idea that I am not practical enough to think of. My old ducks are quite warn out as well. Thanks for the idea.

That is a good idea but every time I ask for a new pair of slippers the other person laughs. Are they ageist. I'm not old, I just get cold feet. I had a lovely pair of very expensive moccasin type slippers, lived and died in the for about 5 years 'til I got a puppy. I miss them soooo much. I hope everyone gets a good pair of slippers for Christmas and learns to appreciate them.

I have cow slippers. I love 'em! They're those lovely big ploofy slippers and they make me giggle...

Everyone should have lovely warm slippers that only wear out when the owner wants a new pair.

Yes, I'll vote for slippers - warm comfy ones. My old ones are getting - old, and really beginning to show they're 2 years of near constant wear. And I'm reputed by my husband to have the coldest feet in Canada.

When I lived in Montana I had a wonderful pair of fur slippers. You really needed them out there because it was so cold in the winter that your eyelashes froze when you went outside.
So I'd like a pair of those again...cos they were wonderful.

I got slippers for Christmas Nice plush ones, burgundy with a furry cuff. They're so nice and warm, and soft on the feet. I hated to get out of them and put on my boots to go to work yesterday.

Now you tell me about slippers? Now when I'm sitting here with cold feet and Christmas is already days past? Why didn't you tell me earlier. Now I have to wait till next year.
Of course, I could buy some myself. Slippers, I mean...

Methos, you should have dropped in earlier!
Here's some ideas for your cold feet. Put on a pair of wool socks, then wrap up in a warm afghan. Chances are, if your feet are cold, so is the rest of you. Do you have an electric heating pad, or hot water bottle? I used to wrap a heating pad around my feet when I lived in an old drafty house.

I do have wool socks and when I read a book or watch tv all is fine, since I have a very, very warm blanket made of alpake wool or something like that. But siiting in front of the computer still is a problem. But i'm sure I'm going to figure something out.

If you're at a desktop machine, try putting the CPU box on the floor with the exhaust of the fans blowing over your poor tootsies

Create use of your computer... I like that. Only I don't have the slightest idea what the cpu box is...

The big grey box thing that everything else plugs into
If it's a really powerful, brutish machine though it could get _too_ hot, so take care *grins*

"How on Earth do fur slippers stop your eyelashes..." Good point. They don't..but you can guarantee warm feet when you get home and start dripping down your cheeks...

The ice melting and dripping off your eye lashes. I walked home from work in a blizzard yesterday, and had frozen eye lashes when I got in - and drops running down my cheeks after I got in the door.
There was fresh coffee waiting, my warm slippers, and two very warm cats who wanted attention. I soon warmed up!
