Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Started conversation Sep 5, 2002
I was touring Dapol's factory and Dr. Who musuem in Llangollen.
As we were going 'round, the little ladies making daleks had the radio on, and I caught something about the world trade centre being destroyed. I assumed it was Play for the Day, since no-one else was paying any attention (either said little Welsh women weren't interested, or they'd already heard it). Anyway, we continued the tour, had a good chat with a bloke making railway wagons and went back to the car. I told Mr. KA to put the radio on, saying I'd heard something odd about the WTC being destroyed. He said something daft, but put the radio on anyway. It took us about ten minutes to work out what was going on, becuase the reception was utter crap (Wales soaks up radio waves somehow). Having assertained what had happened, we went down the pub.
It wasn't until we got home later that day and saw the video footage that anything really sank in. At which point I thought F**K! Bush is gonna blow up the world. Fortunately, he didn't.

Bush hasn't blown up th world - yet. At the time he made all the "nowhere to hide, we're gonna come and get you noises", then what? Invade Afghanistan and don't catch Bin Laden. In order to give some meaning to the War on Terrorism, he's going to invade Iraq. Why? Because Saddam Hussein's evil. He was evil when he gassed the Kurds, but that didn't really matter, after all, America was supplying the weapons then. What really sickens me about this is Teflon Tony being Dubya's poodle, regardless of the consequences. Is the UK lining itself up for some terrorist attacks? After all we've already been bombed by the IRA using weapons paid for by cash raised by NORAID, the (American-based) IRA fundraisers

The Dragonlady~There are no ugly women in the world, only neglected ones! Posted Sep 5, 2002
The latest news item on Bush is that he wants U.N. support to blow Hussain away.
I do not like terrorists, and I am sure many people feel the same. But, why do the Americans feel they must be the "Avengers of the World", and feel it is their right to demand support of all other nations when they feel like playing their war games? They end-up sounding like little kids playing at a game, and when their friend doesn't want to play, they bully them into doing it.
Hussain is a jerk, in my opinion. But, I do not support war.
