2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Aug 30, 2002
....: I should be by then.... What with moving at the moment, trying to get organised in my house, trying to contact my college and organise start of term, and trying to contact University and arrange stuff, and having to contact MR B and try to get equipment and stuff organised, and trying to find a carpenter who can fit a door within the time frame of less than 18 months, and trying to find a carpet cleaner who can come at a logical time, and trying to remember where the pub was, and tryhing to move four arm chairs, a metal framed bed, a bycicle horrible tables, gate leaf tables and assorted boxes of clothes and junk from my loft.... and then the hastle with broadband : I still can't get in to my emails and of course, more than anything, the fact that since finishing my thesis my mind has declined to an oblivion of inactivity and ineffeciency....; I really do function better when I'm doing something mind-stretching (to whatever extent) well, have a great time tomorrow! and sink a few s and for me don't forget your !

Already packed mine.
I can't decide whether to wear a h2g2 t-shirt or a Star Trek t-shirt.
Decisions, decisions.
My daughter is at the hairdressers at 8.30, and she is supposed to be coming to the train station to collect Andrew from me before my train leaves at 10.30.
If by any chance she doesn't make it, I'll have to get the next train, which will get me into Manchester Piccadilly at 2pm, so if I don't appear
I'll keep in touch with you, Granny, by text.

Bagpuss - you attended on paper, along with the Amys and Clive. And nobody was coloured in or otherwise defaced. And, surprisingly, none of the paper attendees found themselves in the toilets at any stage (not that I saw, anyway)! You've been in three pubs tonight - a good night, I think.

Well, I can't deny that one or two s were consumed...
I got in about an hour ago - I think a good time was had by all. A good time was certainly had by me.
We all met up ok, went and went played at Star Trek as planned. Then we succeeded in phoning Amy, and everybody got to say hello (I can't wait for my phone bill ) then on to Wetherspoons for plenty of food and drink, then the Rain Bar for a quiz, and on to the Peverill of the Peak for more drinks and pool and table football. And hot nuts.
We've been talking about the next shindig so hopefully all of those who couldn't make today will be able to come then.
I'm not hanging around online now, as I'm a bit cream crackered and want my bed - no doubt the others will be putting an appearance in soon.

What a day! I had a lively journey home, with a lot of very young chaps on the train, but made it in the end. Sorry I didn't log on last night, but I was very by the time I got home shortly after midnight!
Thanks again, Granny and Captain, and here's to Blackpool!

The best one for drunken young lads on the train is when they are on the way to/coming back from football....
*wistfully remembers the times he has ended up in a train carrage full of football hoolagans ah ha! the Blackpool Beetroot!

I did log on last night just to post a short journal that I was home safe, it was too late and I was way too to start posting anywhere else.
Today I'm moving stuff across to my bungalow by Shank's so posting here will be during my break times.
I will write a long journal about the meet-up, but then, I might just copy & paste Captain Kebab's post up there.
How bad luck was that pool game?
I cleared the table & potted the black then the white ball went in also.
It was great to meet you all, and does the Admiral think your beard s, Captain Kebab?
