Welcome one and all.
Clio, I truly sympathise. I too get ordered to cheer up even when I think my face is in neutral. Obviously my inner grumpiness shows through even when I think I'm being sociable! Welcome to PUDDING. (I noticed that you were a procrastinator, so I waited a couple of days to process your application just to make you feel at home. )
Pedboy, I was initially a little concerned about all the happy things you were saying at the top of your page, but when I got to the Journal Entry about how s are preferable to people, I knew you'd fit in here. Come on in! Just don't let the loose near Cantankerous Cats' Corner, OK?
MattP, LOVE the tone of your page! Bitter, resentful - that's the spirit! You're a perfect portion of PUDDING! Welcome on board! And by the way, your joining is a landmark. I've just counted up to check, and you are the 100th Researcher to join PUDDING!
The grumpy army keeps on growing. We shall overcome!

Englishman in Marseille, consider yourself ing well signed up. And I trust that you're staying grumpy despite your boys' Premiership success. If not, you can off!

As a matter of fact i am deeply ed off.
Despite the magnitude of the Red s come back not one single journalist has said sorry we were utterly wrong to have awarded the premiership to the gunners last december.
Brds the lot of 'em.
Thanks for answering though.

I'm overcomming depression and would probably get on a lot better if I was allowed to look miz when I feel miz. In fact, my best friends are those who DON'T insist on me being cheerful 24/7. So when I get together with them, we have quite a good laugh, safe in the knowledge that we can be gloomy if the mood so takes us!
So yeah, put me down for a portion of pudding.

I've had my fill
My soul is tethered
to the end of the world
It makes me ill
to see those people killed
It's all so unecessary
all so unecessary.
And all the armageddon freaks
count the end in days and weeks
All so boring they got bored
waiting for a holocaust.
I've had my fill
'Coz you won't try
and never will
sucked up and dry
I'm sad to see the way
your concience never saw the day
but you will lie
and guilt it stays so
If you're sick then fix yourself
If you're sick then fix yourself...
Escape from toytown
Grouchy enough? Do I get in P.U.D.D.I.N.G or do you wear one?

Welcome on board, Cogs and rosi.
Cogs, don't worry. Looking 'miz' is not just allowed around here, it's virtually compulsory.
rosi, those verses really are impressively grouchy and grouchily impressive. Great to see someone being so grumpy in the land of 'no worries' ! Keep it up!

Thank you, I did accidentally omit the following -
The life thieves drag us all downhill
We spend our lives paying bills
'till all we do is buy and sell
and join their club to enter hell
oh, if you're sick then fix yourself
if you're sick then fix yourself
I wish I could take the credit, it is my band's song, but not my words.

Wildman - I'm not really mad, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years! Posted Jun 19, 2003
ME! Grumpy? - I'm a taxi-driver! What do you expect? - Bl**dy Pollysoddinganna?
I fear that I might be over-qualified after too many years of piloting morons around the streets for a living, but if you've nothing better to do you could consider me for membership.

Wildman, I truly cannot think of a better profession for a member of PUDDING. Welcome on board. You sound like you'll fit in perfectly!
I love what you've added to your nickname, too. The same could probably be said of me!

Welcome on board, Jodan.
Lots of people are grumpy first thing in the morning. Being grumpy just because it's late takes real dedication! Way to go!

I had a quote that said it all - unfortunately, it was lost in a database crash. It went something like this:
(in response to a friend who claimed to be 'in a bad mood')
"Please. You don't even know what a bad mood is. You're the kind of person who drives by the sign that says *Bad Mood Bluffs. Stay the f*** out* and says 'Ooooo - how liberating it would be to be able to tell someone how you really feel!' You come in, stop at the information center, and maybe even drive up and down a few streets before you visit the gift shop and go on your way. Talk to me when you move in."
Irritable is a good day.
And my cat? Oh yeah - ripe for membership. All he does is yowl. Constantly.
I'd thank you for giving me a place to go for support, but what's the point?

That's a great quote, and you obviously have just the right temperament for PUDDING. Welcome on board. I'll happily enrol your too if you tell me his name.
We have a couple of things in common apart from just grumpiness, actually. I used to work for the (UK) government, and I'm also a reformed boozer - as some people who saw me at h2g2 meets before last summer could testify...

My cat is Bo. His full name is Bodhi, but as that implies some degree of enlightenment, he should be enrolled as Bo.
Ah, drunken disorderly parties. Are you sober on your own or do you use a support group?

Bo has been welcomed into Cantankerous Cats' Corner.
I use a support group. When I decided that I really had to do something about my habit, I made enquiries and was amazed to find that my home city's main s' support group was based almost directly across the road from my flat! It's been very helpful - all the solidarity of Alcoholics Anonymous, but without the religion. Which suits me fine.
