*putters about in her suites... walks past the fire, picks up her book, sighs... places it back where she found it. Walks out to the balcony, paces awhile (annoying the gargoyes tremendously). Comes back in, picks the book up again - sits by the fire, puts it back down. Stares at the flames for a long time...*

Oi!! at lurcher! tho.... i do agree in that cats should be spayed so less become stray and homeless.. but then dogs should too! lol

... My! I must have fallen asleep! *looks around the room, the fire is crackling cheerily, there are fresh flowers on the table next to her reading chair* The place looks lovely Crackle! I must say I am in a much better mood, must have let myself get too run down. Were there any callers while I was dozing? *Crackle brings her a warm cognac, and two cards* Oh yes, I see that Space kat and Lurcher have left their calling cards - the dears. *gives Crackle some gargoyle biscuits* Go have fun for a bit Crackle, take Claw and Onyx with you. I know how you boys get cabin fever if kept inside for too long. But mind you don't carry off any livestock or castle inhabitants this time! It took me three hours to calm down dear Mrs. Higgenbottem after you and Claw carted off one of her prize holsteins!
And should you see Lurcher or Space kat while your out - thank them for dropping by and invite them for and catnip tomorrow evening.

::Drops in with some rare Transylvanian brandy as a gift::

*gets the crystal brandy glasses out - pours some for the Count and herself* Yes, there's nothing quite like a cozy fire to make you feel good.

I still have the rest of the day to work (yuck!) it's only 9:20am here but hey! It is Poet's, it's sunny and tomorrow is Doobry, and it is supposed to get to 70 degress this weekend (before our next cold spell in the 20's hits next week!)

*flies in gripping elaborate invitation which specifically says 'all gargoyles welcome'*

Mind if I stand here for a while?

Welcome Dastardly! I am delighted you could come and visit! Let me introduce you to a few of the gargoyles who reside here:
This lovely gray gargoyle with red striations is "Crackle" (notice his eyes light up red when he grins?!) Crackle is an awsome bartender and generally tends to run the whole place. He schedules the other gargoyles shifts and takes care of training.

Next we have "Claw" (a very striking alabaster gargoyle flaps down from the rafters). Claw is my fencing partner - and a very good fencing/defense teacher! (Claw hisses proudly and grins at Dastardly)

And over here - this black onyx gargoyle's name is... Onyx! (of course!). Onyx scouts and patrols the castle grounds and usually stays out on the roof. (he prefers the cooler temperatures outside) However he just got back from a night on the countryside with Crackle and Claw. (whispers to Onxy "And I trust we didn't have any problems "arise" from this last outing that I will have to tend to later???) (Onyx grimaces at Lady Michele's words, shrugs and hisses in salutation to Dastardly)

They are quite a wonderful bunch, and I don't know what I would do without them. Would you care for a Tin roof-grasshopper- silicon flavored gargoyle snack?

*Claw flies in carrying a load of firewood, flaps over to the fireplace and starts putting the wood into the bin. Crackle and Michele are playing a game of chess, but Crackle has eaten two more pawns (that were tossling about on the chessboard) and is currenlty growling at the White queen who is bopping the Black knight on the foot with her sword)*

::Wakes up suddenly::
