A Conversation for Old Announcements: January - September 2011
Tuesday 21 June, 2011: The future of H2G2 - the Successful Bid
Pastey Posted Jun 21, 2011
This thread may mostly be people celebrating, but it is also the thread associated with the announcement, so to be fair it is the right place for BMT's post.
I'm sorry they feel that they don't want to continue with us, but it is their choice and we should respect that
Anyhoo, on with the celebrations!

I agree Pastey, that this is an Announcements thread.
>>I'm sorry they feel that they don't want to continue with us
Technically they didn't say they wouldn't come with us
It does raise a pertinent question. I've assumed that the bbc publishing rights include the right to sell those rights. Anyone read the small print?

I'm sure that the BBC lawyers will have it all in hand

Congratulations to all invovled in the bid process...all the ones from this site tha we all know and love and all the ones we do/did not know about 'behind the scenes'.
Thank you one and all for all the hard effort, sheer professionalism and attention to detail, and having the hard task of doing a lot of it in confidence and not being able to tell us what was going on.
Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters all round.

>>>BMT, isn't point 1 saying that your personal details WILL be passed on to the new site?
Just to point out that everyone will be emailed giving them the option to opt out of having their personal details passed on to the eventual new owners.

Crikey, I don't envy the person with the job of sorting those emails.

If evolution is rolling, doesn't that make it a revolution?
Well done to all concerned. It really is pleasing to get the outcome you deserved.
