"REMOVE ME"... I suspect this could be the AntiHoover. He wants to quit but hasn't. Could it be the DayDyson?

It has been rather quiet this week. I'm sure people have been using the rest of the BBC though smiley - winkeye

Does anyone else get logged out periodically? And if you ignore it you get logged back in without having to do anything. It just happened to me again about 20 minutes ago.

Yup. It happens a lot these days, and is made more irritating by the fact that whoever wrote the error message never considered that the problem might be at the BBC end. Basically, their server fails to authenticate your password (perhaps because it is "too busy!") and then you are presented with an insulting list of all the things *you* might have done wrong. But if you don't log back in and just leave it, next time you come back you're logged in again without comment.

It's this flaw in the system that has led to dozens of messageboard users re-registering over and over again because they keep being told they've "forgotten" their passwords. smiley - grrsmiley - geek

Crikey, that would be very annoying.

I have logged in a few times when it's happened, so maybe it's more straightforward on hootoo.

The H2G2 Editors

Hi Menthol Penguin. Just wanted to quickly explain. We've removed your post quoting the rather offensive language used in a post above, because that original post has now since been removed, and we wanted to stay consistent. We appreciate you were just quoting what was said to you...

Happened to me this morning. The BBC really do need to get their act together and Actually say "Sorry our servers are old and totally rubbish, we are trying but, well, you can't get the staff. Just keep bumbling along and we'll trot out the same old tired excuses"

Honesty and originality would be nice for once, I've been here for 8 years and I've heard all these excuses before
