I'm not saying it is. I just don't like it on a site who's main appeal is the community and people engaging honestly with each other.

If they kick out the sock puppets, I will have to get the rabbit another job, and I'm not sure he can do anything useful. Heck, he's not even useful as a researcher!

Yes, right now we have a limited Researcher base.

But:

Things are going to change around here (if testing is happening at the end on the the month then it's happening fast!).

Now is the time to start to look to the future; with a re-skin we will (hopefully) warrant some attention, look to re-focus on the EG, bring in more writers, reviewers and readers.

If, a year after the re-brand, we still have only 20 people online I think we can start to think all doom and gloom. Now, however, is not the time for that - now is still the time for celebration that the BBC, after it's promises, is finally delivering! Yay!

When you hover your pointer the "who's online" link it displays http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/online?thissite=1 but when you click it it opens up http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/online?orderby=none

I've never got my head around those links - but anyway, they are only a snapshot of who is signed in at any one given moment.

It doesn't mean at all that there were only 20 or so members here all day - even if that was the maximum number at any one time (just for fun at 11.40pm there are 33) There very well could be a completely random set of 20 researchers every 30 minutes throughout the day ie 40 per hour x 24

Added to this figure there are loads of ordinary members of the public reading the stuff here in h2g2.

One of the best things that has happened to h2g2 is the fact that it is now figuring high in Google search results, and this will bring a lot more traffic to the site.
