31 March, 2005: Amendment to House Rules
The H2G2 Editors Started conversation Mar 31, 2005
We've just made a small amendment to the House Rules of all DNA communities.
The amended house rule for h2g2 now reads:
The BBC welcomes feedback, both positive and negative, about our programmes and services but please make sure your comments are in line with the above House Rules. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments about individual members of the public or people who work for the BBC may be considered harassment. We reserve the right to remove such messages and take action against those responsible.

What action are you allowed to take?
The standard h2g2 disciplnery route, suspensions, lifetime bans etc? or more serious legal actions in the most serious cases?
Just curious.

""What action are you allowed to take?"
They'll send Graham Norton round to talk over you."
A lot of us get that unbidden.

Is this, perchance, a reaction to all the threats to Jim Lynn after he threatened to close "No no no!!"?

If 2legs is a figment of our collective imagination then all I can say is that we must all have pretty warped imaginations!

Very true, Whisky! (Only joking, 2Legs! )
Blimey, when I saw this subject heading I thought the UK General Election must have been called! But I applaud this decision. No-one should have to put up with sustained abuse on h2g2. It's happened to me a couple of times and I've managed to get the Italics to intervene, but it is upsetting to get that sort of stick, and it has driven some people away from the site. There shouldn't be any room for that sort of behaviour on hootoo.

Does that mean everyone at one meet a few years back all imagined 2legs getting down on his knees and worshipping you because you introduced yourself as Nighthoover?
