No one warned him. He left of his own accord.

I think it's very fitting that Elvis left in his own Accord. I always had him figured as a Honda kind of guy.

Honda? Elvis was Cadillac Pimpin' almost from the beginning (his first car was a Buick, sold to him by one Raymond Carlock, I swear that's his real name). Either way he scorned rice burners in favor of American Muscle.

Traveller in Time on the radio
"The radio4 message boards are not that bad, we have our ups and downs too.
Though I can not wait for the DNA servers to take over.
I always find it difficult to decide, re-edit and have to wait minutes again, or finally post it with a little typo."

I'm confused: On the radio 4 website about this http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/newseries.shtml it says that the last three books of the trilogy have been dramatised as two new radio series. Fair enough. But then it says that these new series form the tertiary, quadrenary and quintessential phases. Well, that makes three. But there are only two new series. How can that be? Is it just me that's confused?!

If you ask me, there was always something not quite right about the math. There is no such thing as a trilogy containing 5 items. So, I suspect the BBC tried to whittle the five books down to four, with the hope of eventually getting them pared down to three.
Anyway, at least one of the last three books could stand to disappear in a puff of logic. Or maybe they all could, except for "Restaurant at the End of the Universe," which I happen to like a lot, so I'll defend it until Zarquon shows up.

As I understand it the series just coming up contains six episodes and it the tertairy phase, and the series of eight episode is split in two, with four eps for 'So Long' (the quartinery phase) and four for 'Harmless' ( the quintinery (sp?) phase).

"it says that these new series form the tertiary, quadrenary and quintessential phases."
If you'll pardon a cross-cult reference, I think it could be one of Baldrick's cunning puns.
Tertiary = third,
Quadrenary being a sort of made up adjective based on "quad" suggesting fourth,
Quintessential meaning "of the best of its kind" or "completely typical" looks as though it's suggesting "fifth".

Quadrenary has been used elsewhere to indicate relationships among four entities. I've found two examples on the Internet:
--A logic puzzle about birth in which the mother, baby, nurse, and doctor comprise a quadrenary relationship.
--A Christian site where it is suggesting that the Trinity is actually a Quadrenary, as there is a fourth entity besides the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (or, as the beatniks put it, Daddy-o, Laddy-o, and Spook )
Anyway, I am going over this word, because I keep mixing it up with the Geology term "Quaternary," and the word "Quadrennial."
