I've got a freeview box and yes, it can play radio through the TV, and through the hifi too (saves energy by not having the telly on).
Some of them split the radio stations from the TV - you may need to resort to RT*M.
*insert expletive of your choice here.

"The listen again on the < <./>/radio4/hitchhikers/index.shtml</.> > has one link to the original radio version (including the announcement voice of the Radio 4?_ presenter) and two dolby surround links.
The 'Real Player' and the 'Windows Media Player' links contain five audio streams, where Radio 4?_ only has two."

Traveller in Time on his head
"Hmm, I should write an entry about sound (did I not already?).
In the old days sound only came from one direction. Only after the invention of Stereo this was called Mono.
Then they invented Stereo, just to make the commercials go whoooshs from somewhere on your right, through your head, and speeding away on your left. (Reverse Reft and Light to personal preferences)
In this infinite impossible computer age they manage to produce sound from five (5) directions. We have left and right, front and rear and everywhere. I can imagine this confuses. I will make a drawing:
The marketing devision of the five eared sound systems gave us these diagrams to fill our living quarters with quadrophonic noise.

There's a rather splendid competition here to win a part in recording the next series, and a signed script:

They are so kind to notify 'open for UK residents only' as the first of the rules and regulations.
Hey, I do not complain you know, we can listen to the broadband versions after all! "
