I never really liked that. It was just plain weird.

I reckon, instead of CIN, because that's just annoying (not the actual children, you understand; the program), every celeb who wants to get on CIN just pays £400 and we raise the money that way. First proposed by Ricky Gervais except he said £40.

So if they want to raise £25m they'll need 62,500 celebrities. Even Hello magazine doesn't have that many...

Nope, but I'm sure it would be a good start, and I reckon they'd pay more.... publicity after all!

I don't think you're grasping quite how annoying some of these celebs are.

Just because they are annoying doesn't mean we should be mean to them, maybe we should just switch off when they come on, tv companies wold soon get the idea if their vewing figures all dropped.

I know I know. The scheme was an extended flippancy exercise. Your way is better. Hey, there was one for ads in the world cup, after all.

It's amazing how much power a group of people can have, not physically but just by avoiding or advocating something.

Exactly, trouble is so many people these days say ... oh it wont make a diference if I complain/make a stand.

I always wonder how many people say that about things I write leeters about or comment to relevant people on.

Yeheh.

But it is hard to stand up and be counted. Possibly I should make some sort of resolution around that. To stand up and be counted more often.

I think I ave been counted many times, I'm known as Trouble by some of my uni friends since I don't stand for anything and always make a fuss!

Well... as long as it damn well is worth making a fuss over I don't see why one shouldn't. Freedom of speech 'n' all.

Too true, as has been said... I may not agree with what you are saying but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

We had an issue at uni a little while ago, they wanted to pass a motion which would give them the right to refuse a stand to peoples who's views may be offensive.

I would agree that speakers who incite violence (eg "we should kill all the green haired people") might not be the kind of people we want on campus, but if they are only voicing an opinion (eg "I feel that all green haired people should be killed") then they have as much right as anybody.

Students do not need to be wrapped in cotton wool.
