Actually, 'Duelling Banjos' was an arrangement of a traditional banjo duet, but it was done with guitars in the 'Deliverance' movie. That version has become the familiar one to those outside Appalachia.

I do like the Appalachians... I went to uni there, Amy+ goes to uni there (for right now, anyway), my hubby is from there, and his mom still lives there.... Absolutely gorgeous scenery in Southwest Virginia!

I was hoping for a smidgeon of sympathy here ;four dead gerbils! And having to go round the house finding their little stiff bodies.....

umm...there's that one stage in the decay process I'd rather miss...having experienced it with kittens, squirrels and possums...

never developed any affection for gerbils, though I have a favorite gecko on my window at night...
