Now American's take stock of the Post WTC world.
Someone said that ruin is not temporary.
Two pillars of American Might were ruined. Totally.
Thousands of American lives and British lives and other
human lives were lost forever. But some things were only damaged.
Our enemy the El-Queda were damaged this last year but not destroyed.
Our resolve that America remain great was damaged but not destroyed.
On September 11,2001 the underpinnings of Civilization were shaken.
People in my home town thousands of Miles from Ground zero went crazy looking for petrol afraid that it would be gone before morning.
And these were not just trailer park residents. Some were PHD's living in 2ooK homes driving SUV's. The Attorney General of Michigan
had to step in and threaten to punish profiteering.
And yet Our reaction a year ago by our President, supported by the nation looks in hindsight to have been one of revenge. We are no closer to finding Ben-Lauden or ending terrorism than we were a year ago.

We've made it harder for people to visit our country, while doing absolutely nothing to improve the security of it.
We've made sculptures out of the Twin Towers rubble and put it on display in New York.
Flying was already uncomfortable, cramped, nauseating, and expensive. Now it's scary as well.
The body of Bin Laden has never been found. Dead? Alive? Nobody knows.
Employment is stagnating. Businesses aren't growing, the stock market threatens to crash, and finding a job is almost impossible right now.
And all Americans can think of to do is wear red, white, and blue on Sept. 11th, and turn their headlights on while driving as a reminder of what - needless death and great tragedy? Take the time on Sept. 11th and thank a policeman, a fireman, an EMT (emergency medical technician.) Tell them how much you appreciate them. They're the guys that made a difference, and that continue to make a difference.

And it wouldn't hurt to take time to say a prayer either.

I notice the italics have put up a Talking point September 2002
page at A805989 but that doesn't mean we can't talk about it here.
This war on terrorism is a nebulous thing. Does the American President really think that he can use it to get rid of Saddam Hussein.
President Kennedy thought he could get rid of Fidel Castro and fourty years later Fidel is still there.

Whatever happened to Omar Khaddafi?
To my relief, Bush has admitted he needs the support of Congress and the United Nations to wage war on Iraq.

the First Name of Khadaffi is Mu'ammar. In 1995 after
Black Muslims held a rally in New York City, he was reported to have
phoned from Libya to express his support.
another spelling of his name is Gaddaffi and a report out of
Amnesty International this Month(Sept.2002)
speaks of hios son Saif-al-Isslam al Gaddafi
as being part of a organisation that recently granted amnesty to some
prisoners at a jail in Libya. it is curious how many web pages speak
of him as Colonel Khadaffi not President Khadaffi.
Bush is to preoccupied with Iraq right now to think about Libya
but that may not always be the case.

Bush can only think of one thing at a time... And Libya has been pretty quiet recently.

As has Iraq.
------------
When has Bush said he would only attack under mandate from UN scurity council?
He has clearly stated that he will go to war even if UN is not supporting it; having talks with UN and the members of the SC is just keeping up appearances.
The maniac will do what he want regardless of world opinion, that´s what makes him so dangerous to world peace.

Oh, ..Kadaffy forgot to duck.
American bombers (probably during the filming of 'Iron Eagle One') dropped a load on his house in Lybia a few years back. Blew off one his legs and killed his daughter. He's been fairly low-profile ever since. He even gave up those two guys who were wanted for the bombing of the 747 over Scotland.
It is the moderate 'success' of this attack that inspires George the Second into thinking he can drop one on Saddam with similar results. George the First of course had already tried; using those flying-bomb guided-missile thingies back during the Gulf War, but they kept landing in the lobby of the hotel where CNN was staying or some neighbourhood dairy.
Plan B, getting his own countrymen to kill him, hasn't worked so far either because they love him. Love is a strange but powerful thing.
peace, the only other alternative
