Do we know for sure that there's going to be a proper sound system?

There is no proper sound system. I have a fairly weedy portable CD/Tape player which was used a year ago...

Maybe we should just all crowd round the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire quiz machine, that i'm sure the pub had last time we were there.

RF - are you sure you'll want to take that to Kew first and carry with you all afternoon? What about Roymondo, I bet he has a sound system

What we could do - if necessary - is take it to MMF's, leave it there, do Kew in the afternoon, pick it up later...?

What's with the PA? Will we be able to talk? I'm not much into blary pub sound systems (being such a sound connessieur and I have so little idea how to spell it, it's impossible to look up in the dictionary ) No really I hope we can talk, cos I'm not very good at communicating with my rather inadequate dance technique.

There'll just be the sounds of many people talking and laughing, so you should be able to cómmunicate.

I did a quiz at the Leeds Radish (look it up). I think it was a bit of a fiasco, so I am hesitant to try another.
By the way, is the afternoon activity decided upon?

It's been a while since I've been to a meet but I've met RF, Serephina and Creachy. Excelsior is still umming and ahhing about whether he's coming or not, I'll be there unless the train fare is more than my months pay of course

Alas I have no sound system but I am quite sound...
red: believe it or not you *do* know us. The HooToo personas might start as as facade but after a few post-lubrication postings we all get to know each other proper. At the last meet RF was the first HooTooer I met and he was pretty much the same person he is here. But don't let that put you off...most of us are lovely.
Come and be happy. You'll love it.

Its occured to me, that i only know 3 people who are going to the meet. Suddenly the prospect of going seems very scary

Don't be scared. I've only been a hootooer since February, had my first meet last summer (though I've had a few micro-meets since) and can honestly say that there is nought to get the wibbles about. We be lovely we be. I have no idea who you are so am off to check your PS!

This won't be my first meet I've been to a couple before, but i went with friends. This time i'll be going alone to the afternoon thing at Kew, to meet some others.
I'm a kinda quiet person in RL, which could make things awkward for me.

You've been here since 2003! Really, I mean, come on, what you chatting about? etc...
If I can do it you can do it. What's the worst that can happen? You'll end up chatting to a bunch of internet nerds for the night, but it *will* be cooler than that. I don't know a lot of the people going (HooToo's huge) but it's all good!
Key: Complain about this post
