Jars work better on dogs with big heads. Just put in something smelly (doesn't even have to be appealing smelly, just unusual smelly) and they'll stick their head in the jar. Voila, bite-free dog.

Think of it as a multiple-feline facility

I don't think the pictures would work so well, lots of cats in one big jar just doesn't have the same effect as one kitten in a rather small jar.

It would be a catastrophe

It's not as if you could keep us there for very long. Lots of cats in a small space tends to have explosive consequences.
